Hoffman-Evans-Armia
Gallagher-Dvorak-Gurianov
Pitlick-Pezzetta-Anderson

Wideman-Edmunson

3/4 of the forward “lottery hab“ veterans are still there for next year, but only a third of the D. This is improvement. I should include Savard to be fair I suppose and make it half the D.

PLD - Suzy - Cauf
Slaf - Dach - RHP/Farrell
Monahan - DVo - RHP/Farrell
Heinemen - Evans - Gally
Pezz - Ylonen

Anderson shipped with a prospect and a pick for PLD
Hoffman shipped with a pick to get rid of him
Armia bought out
Draft Carlsson/Smith/Michkov

Matheson - Barron
Guhle - Savard
X - Harris - Kovy

Edmunson shipped for pick.
That pick moved with another pick to move up somewhere/or for a prospect

I'd like for MSL to at least try the SAD line: Slaf Anderson Dach but it's much more likely that Slaf will be on 3rd line this year, hopefully not with Dvorak as his C.

Conflicted on this one but what is your guys take on trying to sign Severson? Legit top 4 Dman, solid skater, very good outlet pass and ultra competitive. May be a little expensive but he should still be a good player when we are ready to compete in 2-3 years. Conflicted because we are still terrible and overpaying in free agency can end up disastrous, however he fits a need as a RHD where we are very shallow.

I think he's a very bad defenseman and I wouldn't be interested at all.

I’m still rooting that slaf takes the next step this year and finds him self with suzuki and caufield. His skills are tailor made for them.

But if he has to start on the bottom lines, playing with monahan and Pezzetta would be awesome.

Ylonen should be there. He won't pass through waivers...

I'd prefer giving Gurianov a shot to transform his game under MSL than have Hoffmand or Armia in the top 12...

I think PLD asking price will be too high this summer. We have to wait until next summer.

I left the extra spots open for those reasons. But I strongly believe PLD is a Hab this year.

I don’t believe he will. To me it feels like Bettman was only protecting his back.

Mitchell’s situation blew out in epic proportions, and if that “what about Mailloux” moment didn’t happen I don’t we would be having this discussion

It would surprising, to me, if Bettman had that idea in head, he answered like any good lawyers would do by protecting the league’s interest.

Now instead of reacting, he will get control of the narrative.
No way he shoots himself in the foot by making it hard on a franchise pumping big bucks into the league to support his pet projects like Arizona. He knows how easy it is for Molson to divert revenue if Bettman pisses him off.

No way is Gurianov back unless he agrees to a 1 year show me deal for 1M or so.

How did we get rid of Armia & Hoffman?

Also, while Dvorak & Evans have some value as centers, we traded them for nothing?

Farrell - Suzuki - Caufield
Slafkovsky - Dach - Anderson
Gallagher - Dvorak - Hoffman
RHP - Evans - Armia
Ylonen, Pezzetta

Matheson - Barron
Guhle - Savard
Harris - Xhekaj
Edmundson - Kovacevic

UFAs: Monahan, Drouin, Dadonov
AHL: Pitlick, Heineman, Belzile, Wideman, Roy

One extra player, hopefully, we're able to move Edmundson.

This is assuming we don't draft Bedard or Fantilli. Both of whom are playing in NHL next year for sure.
Farrell on the first line?
I need some of what you're smoking.
Can't see him cracking the lineup before 4 or 5 forwards get injured

Says you posted this at 4.32 am ........................might explain why you have Drouin in the lineup???
I hear he is going to the Avs, where he scores 40 goals, and has a 110 assists......wins all the major hardware.

Without PLD

Cole - Suzi - Monahan
Slaf - Dach - Anderson
RHP - Dvorak - Training Camp Surprise
Ylo - Evans - Gally
Pezz, Armia (Hoff waived)

With PLD (traded for 1st, prospect, Armia retained)

Cole - Suzuki - Monahan
Slaf - Dubois - Dach
RHP - Dvorak - Anderson
Ylo - Evans - Gally
Pezz, Hoff/Belzile

All likelyhood one forward is injured so Hoff stays as a spare

Defense

Matheson Savard
Ghule Barron
Xhekaj Harris
Eddy Kovy (Wideman waived)

All likelyhood one defenseman injured to start the season

Not optimal, but this is what I expect it will look like if everyone is healthy

Slaf-Suzuki-Caufield
RHP-Dach-Anderson
Gallagher-Dvorak-Ylonen
Pezzetta-Evans-Armia
Belzile - Richard extras
Hoffman bought out
Heineman-Farrell and Roy to start in Laval and get called up eventually.

Matheson-Savard
Ghule- Harris
Xhekaj-Kova

Wideman

Eddy I expect to be traded
And as soon as a D gets injured Barron gets called up.

Slaf needs to be in the AHL.
He would have to have a very bad training camp to be demoted to the AHL. Hughes must find ways to get rid of Hoffman and or Armia, and or Gally.

Slaf is far away from being a #1 LW right now.

Looking at these lineup projections and it's pretty clear that HuGo's biggest task this off-season is to make room for younger talent. That won't be easy and some may cost us some picks but we need to move forward.

It's gonna be hard to make room for RHP, Farrell, Slaf or Ylonen. Who's gonna take Hoffman or Armia or Edmundson off our hands ? We know that nobody would take Gally.
