Gets a bit murky after 5 but I think I would go this way. Maybe Thrun and Lacombe ahead of Groulx, or Tracey/Colangelo ahead of Pastujov

  1. C Zegras, 2019 (rd 1), NHL
  2. G Dostal, 2018 (rd 3), AHL
  3. RHD Drysdale, 2020 (rd 1), NHL
  4. C McTavish, 2021 (rd 1), Swiss League
  5. RW Perreault, 2020 (rd 1), AHL
  6. LHD LaCombe, 2019 (rd 2), NCAA
  7. LHD Thrun, 2019 (rd 4), USHL
  8. C Groulx, 2018 (rd 2), AHL
  9. LW Tracey, 2019 (rd 1), WHL/AHL
  10. RHD Moore, 2020 (rd 3), USHL
Drysdale drops because he struggled as the season wore on, but Dostal was sterling! Both Perreault and LaCombe improved bunches in the second half of their seasons.

Moore had a strong finish before heading to Harvard as well as has been invited to by USA Hockey for the World Junior summer showcase. GM Murray keeps boasting our three defensive prospects in LaCombe, Thrun, and Moore. Geez... I have no idea where to put RHD Andersson, a 2018 second rounder from a trade with Boston?! 2021 second rounder Zellweger would be in the next tier. Heh, we really are better at drafting/targeting defensemen! It's a big change considering we stopped drafting defensemen in the first two rounds for three consecutive drafting sessions, 2016 - 2018.

1. Zegras - Looks like a future star forward with incoming PPG seasons. Has skills that only few have.
2. Drysdale - Just below Zegras, but could jump ahead. Top pairing defenceman in the making.
3. McTavish - Powerforward with scoring touch. Still not sure about his ceiling. Should be an NHL player with his skill set though.
4. Thrun - I see a solid top 4 defenceman, possibly even number 2. I like him a lot.
5. Dostal - Should become atleast a backup goalie, possibly even a starter.
6. Perreault - Sniper -type forward. Not that versatile but he has top 6 potential.
7. Zellweger - Good mobilty combined with hockey IQ. Not the biggest, though capable of overcoming that with other abilities.
8. LaCombe - Second pairing defenceman potential. Not a big point producer, but solid player.
9. Pastujov - A lot to like in him, just needs to improve his skating and mature. Could go higher very soon.
10. Groulx - Warrior bottom 6 forward in the making.

I think Groulx will shoot up some of your lists this season. I predict he surpasses both Steel and Lundestrom by the end of the year.

Agreed, if he's playing solid top 9 minutes by the end of the season, it will have been silly in hindsight to have ranked him below recent picks who may never sniff the roster.

I am not sure any other prospect will be an impact at the NHL Level, top 9 offense or top 4 defense. Maybe Groulx sneaks into the 3rd line role.
