Yes, those are all good numbers. And if anyone were to argue that Kurri was a bad player, they would be wrong.

However, you have McDavid at 0.03 ppg less than Kurri, in a drastically less offensive league, and without the help of the best player in the league feeding him easy points here and there.
It also completely ignores the fact that McDavid has a Hart, 2 Art Ross, 2 Ted Lindsay in what, 5 years? On a complete garbage team.

So, individually, what Connor McDavid has achieved thus far, is absolutely incredible.

I like how you mention cups, but leave out McDavids personal hardware.

Lemieux = Gretzky
Crosby > McDavid
Jagr >>>>> Draisaitl

I feel like this thread is disrespectful to Jagr even though there are 6 total players mentioned.
I think you could also read it as disrespectful to Jagr, Crosby and McDavid. We all know Gretzky and Lemieux are in their own tier, while Crosby/Jagr/McDavid are all in the tier below. Not sure how Draisaitl worked his way into the equation.

And the fact that Kurri was a two-way forward, he played always d first.

The irony is the OP is asking how good would McDavid be if he ALSO got to play with Wayne like Kurri did.

Kurri's production didn't drop after Gretzky got traded. If McDavid would have to rely on Gretzky to score he wouldn't be a very good player.

Kurri was 9th in scoring after Wayne was traded. Is that how he should be viewed? Both McDavid and Drai have been better than that. They are clearly Top 3, arguably the Top 2 scorers.

And 13th before the trade. You can view him how you want, but I think 72 goals in 99 playoff games leading to 5 rings speaks for itself.

Right now it is the Penguins trio...

That may change if McDavid and Draisatl can actually help the Oilers win in the post season as opposed to collecting individual awards

So a 13th and 9th placing doesn't scream being better than Art Ross winners.

If you are trying to make a case that Kurri playing with arguably the most dominant athlete in NA sports history didn't affect his production, you aren't making a very believable one.

Everything has its context, you can win an Art Ross and be largely useless defensively like McDavid, or you can be elite in both ends like Kurri.

Kurri's production before and after the trade:

1986/87 79 54+54=108
1987/88 80 43+53=96
----- Gretzky traded -----
1988/89
76 44+58=102
1989/90 78 33+60=93

So again, he is, without Wayne, a borderline Top 10 scorer.

If he put up 130 points without Wayne, then you have an argument, that offensively, he was close to McDavid.
