has there ever been a team in NHL history that has had two 100 point players and still missed the playoffs?

The Jersey game doesn't even represent a last gasp. It was done already, and long before that, realistically. For a club that can barely go over .500 for short lengths of time requiring a hot streat was really out of the question. This was never a lineup that was making ground. Instead this is a completely healthy Oilers lineup, with no injuries, not one single injury, and they lost to a Devils team had their MVP out and 8 other starters. Chew on that. How bad would this Oilers team look if it was missing Connor McDavid for several months as well as 7 other starters AND their starting goalie being out most of the season?

But hilariously, and perhaps fittingly the Devils club that schooled us and made us look like pretenders in the first game of the year has now schooled us even worse at the end of the year. Perfect bookends of being schooled. But this one even more impressive from a Devils stand point due to their limited lineup. This Devils club last night with half a lineup ran us out of our own rink.

One gets the sense the Devils would beat Edmonton 4 straight in a playoff series finding a different way to make the Oilers idiots each time. Every match we play they seem to be on the smart side of hockey.

So just go 9-2-1, hope four other teams all collapse at the same time, and we're in! Then we just need to go 16-12. That's barely over .500. And the cup's ours! We have been shit haven't been on track for 150 games, but we got this!

They will most likely be eight points out going into Saturday's game.

At minimum they would need to win 10 of the last 12 just to have a chance.

With games on Saturday and Sunday, do you guys expect Koskinen and Stolarz to each start one game?

Or with playoff hopes still alive would Koskinen start both games?

Thanks

Not sure if this thread is a joke

No.. I assure you it is not... this is happening :laugh::laugh:

This is just to track and give everyone a visual of our playoff picture (hopes) I think it will also show just how steep of a hill we will need to climb.

I would say the 10-1-1 and better gives us the best shot based on the records the other teams would have to achieve in that scenario.

Updated.

No.

If they had won, they would have been 4 points back. I don't think they had a real chance at making it, but 4 points is 4 points. It was fun, and that's what counts. God forbid we have any fun with this team.

Be pessimistic all you want, and yes, we suck, but you're wrong.

I mean he's not wrong though.
