I hope I was wrong in my assessment. I had him at 18 on my list. I have him as a 15 goal guy but said he would go earlier than 18 if someone saw 25-30 goal upside.
Hope he's a difference maker. This was where he was expected to go. We do need size and speed. Just hope hands and competitive nature are there in the NHL.
Well, I had to go back and review all of Perlini's videos and the one thing that sticks out his he has a very good shot.
It is quick, (very quick release and from all angles) and he does skate well. But there aren't a lot of highlights with him making moves in tight and scoring. They are all when he's on the wing or driving wide or when he's open in space.
He does look like he has good wheels, better wheels than Pyatt.
Many proponents of Perlini compare him to Brandon Saad and his falling in the draft. I really hope for our sake that Perlini turns out to be anything like Saad, because otherwise I do agree that he seems to be Taylor Pyatt 2.0 in the making. Big meh with this pick.
