I've been willing to keep Dougie at a fairly high number, but that rumor would be a bit rich for my blood. It would really be a shame if they can't make it work here.
The sex book derailed her.I remember the pre-madonna times. Not clearly, mind you, I was only a few years old when she got popular
Depends on how you mean close.. Rational vs Irrational numbers? Galaxy vs universe..Bean isn’t close to Hamilton
That's been about my line throughout this. It hurts but it really is a pretty fair deal for both sides. We have risk on the back end, he loses some open market money perhaps. If we're lucky, maybe even a little less.Maybe 8x8? Ugh I can't believe I'm typing that.

In terms of hockey play I'll concur but There are scales then there are SCALES!.
That's future Carolina's problem, and those guys suck.Every extra dollar they are willing to increase on a long-term deal for Hamilton effectively needs to be tripled as this deal sets the floor for Slavin and a target for Pesce. One of the strengths of Carolina's defense has always been their cost effectiveness and max contract $$.
Its also EASILY the cost of being taxed in NJ vs NCSo it sounds like NJ is guaranteeing Dougie $63m with a 9x7 contract.
Unlikely we'd outbid ourselves by giving him 8x8. My guess is we make a proposal that comes somewhere in the $55-60m total range. 7.5x8 is a guaranteed $60m, but we have to eat that last year.
It's still plausible that he could stay if the money is comparable and that extra $3m -- which is only a 5% difference -- is the price of staying with a contender.
We'll see.

It's far harder to avoid taxes on wages than it is to avoid them with investment income.I don't know where Bezos lives, but some years you don't have to pay tax.
