How does this season team compare to 2019 Bruins team? (In general)
Better defense, worse offense, lesser goaltending
That said, defense is what killed us ultimately in the final so, take that as you will

I don't think we are worse offensively. We were a one line team in 2019, now we seem to have 3 lines that can score and a decent 4th line. It's gonna be alot harder for teams to line match us in the playoffs. All in all, I think we are better than the 2019 teamBetter defense, worse offense, lesser goaltending

The 2 big questions for me are:I don't think we are worse offensively. We were a one line team in 2019, now we seem to have 3 lines that can score and a decent 4th line. It's gonna be alot harder for teams to line match us in the playoffs. All in all, I think we are better than the 2019 team
Having Lindholm there eating 24 mins a nite changes everything for me.I think competition is stronger though to.How does this season team compare to 2019 Bruins team? (In general)

Bruins have Ullmark there for a reason so I am not worried about goaltending as much as scoring enough goals.Bruins will try and win tight low scoring affairs is my bet and they are built to do it.If I am a Leafs fan I am terrified with their duo.Bring on Tampa or Leafs.2019 Tuukka was a Vezina Finalist and would have won the Conn Smythe had we won Game 7. Swayman is good, and has a very bright future, but there's really no comparison here.
Once Swayman shows he can manage the grind of being the #1 for a 20-25 game playoff run, there's still a question mark there.
Agreed, but there's a big difference between playing every other night or 5 out of 8 games, and playing every game through a playoff run. I'm curious to see how Bruce handles this in the post season. Normally I don't like flip-flopping goaltenders during playoffs unless your starter shits the bed. However in Swayman's case, it might not be a bad move.Bruins have Ullmark there for a reason so I am not worried about goaltending as much as scoring enough goals.Bruins will try and win tight low scoring affairs is my bet and they are built to do it.If I am a Leafs fan I am terrified with their duo.Bring on Tampa or Leafs.

We'll see.
Goalie advantage due to experience or skills?
Still not enough sample... but eye test + the gaa and save per so far ...what you expect from a bonafide #1
They needed a center more, but I would have felt good about it. I think he will do well in Pitt, and probably go to the Rangers.Words I am hearing:
Pens offered Rakell a 4-year contract extension. Ducks offered 4 years and no more. Bruins were prepared to offer 6 years.

I find it curious to offer a 6 year deal to a RW with Lysell coming.Words I am hearing:

Not odd with JDB leaving....I find it curious to offer a 6 year deal to a RW with Lysell coming.
Yeah I suspect there were trade options for DeBrusk, but no trigger was pulled because Sweeney couldn’t make a deal for his replacement. Lysell looks a year or two down the road to me… and that’s fine. Just not counting on him being a viable top six option before Bergeron retires. Not odd with JDB leaving....
No I know Debrusk was being traded for Rakell. But then you’re committing to either Rakell or Lysell at 3RW for 5 years, with Smith not being resigned.Yeah I suspect there were trade options for DeBrusk, but no trigger was pulled because Sweeney couldn’t make a deal for his replacement. Signing Rakell would have made a lot of sense

I think we pencil these guys in to starting lineups too early, it’s happened for years, Lysell isn’t a lock top six NHLer, but Rackell should not be commanding six years from anyone. He’s going to be 29 in May, injury prone and not that goodI find it curious to offer a 6 year deal to a RW with Lysell coming.
Lysell is in the McAvoy/Pasta/Swayman category - just a matter of when not if. He’s not Zach Hamill or JFK.I think we pencil these guys in to starting lineups too early, it’s happened for years, Lysell isn’t a lock top six NHLer, but Rackell should not be commanding six years from anyone.
