"LIVE LONG AND PROSPER"
based on tonight...you guys are right....
losing is fun!
Losing is not fun!
It's just that winning now will cause more losing in the future.

losing is fun!
99% on that being not true.
Further proof that our Players are losers. When things get hard they crack everytime and use the ol'confidence excuse.Either you can get the job done when it matters or else
we'll have to go else where. The winning at the end of the season to build confidence for the next season is beyond ****ing embarrassing.
Winning players win when it matters and do not take it as actual progress if you are winning against teams at the end of the season when these teams no longer give a **** anymore.
I'll say the same as I did before the RNH draft and the Yakupov draft: a 1st overall is not the solution for this team's troubles.
RNH was not the second coming of Crosby, Yakupov was not the next Ovechkin and Ekblad is not Weber...

Ekblad is still the best option, as there's no other defenseman that the Oilers have any chance of acquiring through free agency or trades this offseason.
Nuge would of been fine with experienced wingers. Yak would of been fine with an experienced center. Instead we toss them in with other quite young players and hoped they came out fine.Best option for what exactly?
It seems as if whenever we want to fill a need on this team it is always by drafting another number one pick.
Everyone is obsessed with getting a "Weber-defenseman". That would be nice but it is not the solution to everything (just look at Weber in NSH...).
Again, this looks like the same story all over again. We had no 1st line center: RNH. We needed a big, hitting, 1st line winger: Yakupov.
IMO opinion it is wrong to keep looking for a franchise player for each position of the team. It would be better to look for a veteran 2nd pair defenseman. What we need is experienced players who can bring stability to the defense and give advice to our D-prospects, even if it is not by being a clear cut number 1 D.
