For whatever reason, we always seem to struggle to score. More so against lesser teams it feels like. Teams we should crush we beat by a goal…
I believe that is because in the league most lesser teams playing Chelski play at least fairly defensively and look to play on the counter. And for whatever reasons they struggle to break down a low block, create good opportunities, and thus score goals.
Teams that step out and try to play with them, as it looks like Lille did for whatever reason though I didn’t actually watch the game, present a lot more opportunities for them to play and show their superior talent. For Lille to come out and play that way, especially on the road in the first leg, seems really tactically naive IMO.
