Bunch of older guys fighting….

was reading about the Denmark game and the abuse their fans took. Same terrible behavior.

They should be forced to play without fans….and more.

Messi, Barcelona agree new deal - sources

How insane is it that Messi made $594 mil in 4 years?!

“Taking a significant wage cut”……to what, $50 mil a year? Lol…

Funny part of that is that he actually makes silly money but it's just spread over 5 years... several sources think he will play 2 years before going to MLS while being paid by Barcelona and then come back as an ambassador. All while staying in their pay roll. So that they can fit his contract and register him for next season.

Messi in the MLS will be sad to see.

I don’t see him doing it. Why would he? He is arguably the greatest soccer player in history. He doesn’t need to finish his career in the minors.

NYC or Miami or LA could be attractive to him I bet, but maybe he wants to take it easy as he winds down? Hard to know….

I wouldn’t bet on it that’s for sure. MLS first player/owner lol? He could afford it! Jordan-like move to buy into a team and retire in the US.

If he stuck it out and help build the MLS up in the US that would be a pretty nice topper to an already great legacy. But coming over for a year or two to collect a check like other European stars have done would not be ideal, IMO.

Hate all of this. There's nothing wrong with the game other than maybe the diving and VAR

Agreed…..”kick-ins” is an interesting thing to explore maybe, but the rest is trash for me.

Throw-ins are such a non-event is my only thinking, especially late in games where guys lob these long floaters that almost never result in even a quality scoring chance.

I'm just not sure why any of it's even being considered, given the popularity of the sport globally. This isn't a struggling organization. I have to think FIFA is just looking to scare bribes out of some orgs/countries who might be threatened by the changes (player specialists in certain areas or something) or who don't want to see change (shorter games means less ad revenue), etc.

Did Sweden always have so many tall players? I don't remember them having that much of a height advantage last tourney. Maybe they figured they could beat the USA in the air.
