O’Hara made 34 appearances for Spuds in 6 seasons so I would hardly call him a ‘star’ as the headline does.

It’s White’s call. Why does anyone give a shit? Something obviously happened between him and the England setup at the World Cup that nobody wants to talk about and he doesn’t want to be involved now. So what? When Southgate and his staff eventually go, I bet White reconsiders his position on this.

Hasn’t he also had issues with injuries the past few seasons? Can’t blame him for not wanting to risk it.

That said, representing my country in a sport would be the pinnacle of my career so I personally couldn’t fathom turning it down but to each their own, and to call him a disgrace for making that choice is a bit shitty.
