IMO, Dallas is the best trading option only because they need a Phaneuf type player, also Ritchie or Dickinson would be a great return for the Leafs, & a possibly 2nd rounder?

Guys on this board have to get over the numbers these players make. Fact is, it is what the market will pay and he will be worth that on the open market. Any player you find to play that position will cost you as much. I would say I would rather have him for that price than Dion.

The "market" paid Clarkson 5.25 mil, the "market" paid Phaneuf $7 mil, if Franson is signed for $5.5-$6, than people are going to be freaking about this in 2 years. Franson is good but not $6 mil good and not to a team that is rebuilding. It does not make sense. Let somebody else pay him.

His hockey sense and skating really makes him look bad at times. He is good with the puck however even do his decision making lets him down at time. As been said before, glorified PP specialist (with 10 PP goals...in 4 seasons).
