I forgot what the advanced stat is called, but I remember seeing that Toews is calculated to be slightly more valuable than 4.1M per season. I think The Athletic had some stat like that.

edit. It is called "Market value" and Toews has 13.7M, so +9,6M or +234 % to his contract.

There's actually a realistic chance that Toews will be the 6th best paid d-man of the team, that's pretty insane. He's not on a rookie contract and some could argue he's the #1 LD of the #1 hockey country.

Obviously, if Kadri re-signs, the odds that Girard will be out are increased dramatically.
