Jagr is on pace for almost 70 points this year. People can make fun of him and say he's washed up and should hang them up, but he's been damn good for us this year. Maybe he won't keep it up, but right now he's on pace for as many points as Kovalchuk was last year.

He has been beastly. Obviously the early struggles were him missing preseason because he is all over the place on the ice trying to make things happen constantly. If we are still in the hunt we will all be thankful we signed him.

Marty was good tonight. The one goal was soft no doubt but the other two were flukes. No way his fault. Those are bad breaks. After the first he was on and making some big stops. He was also handling the puck really well.

Good thing as it gives Cory some time to heal up since we will need him next weekebd

Also I was happy with Henrique tonight. Played a much better game then he has for a while. Also that was a nice shot and goal for him. Gelly did the work serving up that rebound but was still a nice shot.

Hopefully this game gets Marty to where he needs to be. Let in the softy to end the first, but did make 17 straight saves to end the game.

Some good ones too. I thought we were done a few times early 2nd. He was playing the puck well too. You can tell he wants to win bad when he starts heave hoeing the puck down the ice. I was waiting for him to join the rush lolol.

I hope this gets him going too. He needs to be big against Tampa. Win that game and we can start saying we are turning the corner.

Hopefully wwe can score some goals on Larry Bird wearing his Dick Butkus pads!

Why on earth would you want Harrold and Volchenkov to still be here?

Harrold and Volchenkov can go, but he also wants to get rid of Zidlicky who is the team's best offensive weapon on defense, and Salvador who is the most consistent stay at home D on the roster.

Greene-Salvador
Zidlicky-Fayne
Larsson-Gelinas

That's the best possible line-up given the current personnel in my opinion.

Harrold needs to be blasted off into outer space somewhere. Maybe he can go down to Raleigh like he did during the lockout when he was skating with Hurricanes players. I don't vehemently dislike Harrold or anything, actually I think he's a fine number SEVEN. Keyword SEVEN. I'll gladly put up with the Volchenkov of the last week at least until the end of the season. Still needs to be bought out the last two years of his contract IMO.

Yeah, Volchenkov hasn't been that bad the past couple games, I do enjoy the physical play he brings.

I also 100% agree about Harrold, I was shocked to see how much he was playing earlier in the season and can't believe he's benched now when it was painfully obvious he didn't belong since game 1. Hopefully the emergence of Gelinas will finally get Harrold off this roster, or at least in the press box where he belongs.

He is saying more as the last resort to make room for Gelly. Zids is the most untouchable of the old men though, and isn't going anywhere. Also this needs to be Zids last year here. Appreciate what he does, but he is old and we need to continue the youth movement next year. No more benching for Larrson, Gelly on the roster and most likely Merrill as well.

I know a lot of ppl hate Zidlicky but watching that reply and seeing his poise on that game tying goal, then seeing the open lane, and then ripping a beautiful shot... wow.

I don't hate Zidlicky he is just not good defensively. There is no question he brings and element of offensive talent from the blue line that is lacking on this team but so can players like Gelinas, Merrill, hopefully Larsson, some Greene and a little Fayne all while being better all around.

I want to see the defense transform as quickly as possible. I believe it is the key to the Devils future and immediate success.

Zidlicky, to me, is a specialist. A very good situational player, not a top 4 big minute defenseman. But the real issue is these older players are slowing down the transformation of this defense in my opinion.

I agree with you about keeping Zidlicky, at least for this season, but I would change the pairings.

Greene-Fayne
Salvador-Zidlicky
Gelinas-Larsson

would be what I would go with. All three pairings have proven chemistry and balanced handedness, one lefty, one righty.

hes noooooot keeping a 70 point pace though imo

Well if anything, his first 2 games were his preseason games since he missed most of training camp and all of the preseason and he was very bad in those first 2 games.

Since then, Jagr has 9 Pts in 9 games which is a PPG pace. Believe me when I say this, Jagr can play even better than this when he starts to put up goals. Right now he's getting easy points which is actually helping him gain his confidence. This is a new team and he has to get accustomed to new linemates and teammates and already he's playing at a near PPG pace, he hasn't even hit his stride yet.

The puckhandling was probably more important even. When he lofted the puck along the boards past like three players at some point early in the game I sighed cause we ain't NEVER getting that from Cory

Well his lack of positional awareness led to the 3rd goal so good on him to make up for it.

Henrique made up for his own goal.
Brunner made up for his with the penalty draw and GWG assist.

It was a good night for making up for mistakes.
