Hey I did say "I miss those days", didn't I? :rolly::rolly::rolly::rolly:

EDIT : Weird. It doesn't quote an attachment, I guess.

But I stand corrected.

Barry however wasn't all that. I'll just say that much.

And we are not this year's Oilers. Give me a break, man. LOL

We knew there would be some growing pains with a defense that is basically 1/3 rookies. I expect this will even out by the end of the season.

Nobody wins the Cup in November, and nobody loses in the first round here either.

There's only 1 rookie though? and he's not struggling. Maybe you count Bahl as a rookie too but I wouldn't say he's massively struggling either. Like was mentioned, it's the vets crapping atm.

Siegs being awful, Marino being awful, and then replacing Severson with Smith...yea major downgrade on the 3rd pair.

When it comes to the defense my biggest concern is the PK defense. The 5v5 D isn't great but it's nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be. Really makes no sense why the PK looks so much worse and more passive than it did last year

Goal aside I thought the PK looked better tonight. Still too passive, but it does seem to be improving.

I'm not sure people watch enough of the rest of the league tbh. Our team defense at 5 on 5 is totally fine. The numbers bear that out. They aren't getting good enough goaltending so far.
It was terrible the first handful of games on the season, but they've mostly settled down. Still need the veteran defenseman to step up their play though, Hamilton, Marino and Siegenthaler have all underperformed from last year.

Agreed.

But I think some of the anxiety is because now the cup is the bar. And it's about what it takes to go all the way.

I feel like we're getting there.

Still think the PK is about getting clears and goalies being able to freeze the puck for face offs and line changes. I think they will get better at the first. However, the second worries me and also makes it hard for the first to happen.

Vitek is who he is. He can give you enough but not much more.

Schmid has not been good to start the year, but I think he will figure it in the end.

I'm really not worried about the team right now. Some issues need ironing out but I see no reason why they won't get ironed out in time.

I think the second will improve once Schmid finds his game (which I think he will).

Vitek is Vitek

Detroit game was always overblown. Coyotes game was f***ing awful. Panthers game wasn't as bad as you'd think based on the goals. Then we get into the Isles game and beyond where they haven't been bad at all really (besides the Buffalo one)

Oh yeah it's definitely this. Expectations are sky high and we are a critical bunch even without expectations.

With expectations everything is under the microscope.
