Cory wasn’t going to be the main guy here, a Cory Mac tandem looked really good down the stretch which is why they went with that this season. If they were to sign one of those guys then it would have had to be 3 goalies on the roster or letting Mac go back to the AHL which would have been ridiculous after what he showed last season.

And down the stretch last year was a sham.

hynes had the ahl fringe players he needed to grind. The devils had a much weaker schedule. C

that is exactly what I want to avoid this year but it seems that last year was a template not a one off.

the perfect storm was ‘17-‘18 with Haynes having that ahl eager team with a motivated elite nhl talent. Goaltending just had to be decent. Unfortunate that top 5 (paid) goalie had to disappear from that point on.

I would argue bringing Cory up in this thread is even more irreverent than kinkaid at this point. Put a fork in it!

You started us down this path by insinuating Shero should be fired for trading Kinkaid for nothing and then trading essentially the same nothing for Domingue.

Damon Severson is just a net negative on the ice. I am tired of him. I am tired of people making excuses for him too.

He demonstrates a total resolve to continually make risky plays that cost the team game after game. He does this in every situation, whether the Devils are down a goal, tied, or up a few goals.

It's taken a few years, but I knew everyone would come around eventually.
