This is exactly why I hardly ever criticize a player for mistakes like that.

If you've ever simply played with a puck, you can realize how unpredictable it can be at times. Sure goals can bounce over your stick before you even realize what happens.

It's unfortunate, but it's the reality of the game, not that he shouldn't have scored though.

I forget who it was but there is a vid of a former high pick who walks in on an empty net and the puck jumps off the ice right when he tries to shoot, completely misses the net. And Melrose(I think) rips the kid, the puck clearly jumped.

I didn't see the puck bouncing last night, but it's not surprising.

But JJ got bailed out by Bouch, and now JJ needs to put some points up in the upcoming games. He's been darn close of late, also had an out of mid air chance last night that went wide, had a similar out of mid air then went off the goalies mask, and hit a cross bar that game too. Hard to call it snake bitten given his career, but it sure looks like it lately.

You're probably referring to this

I'd give the player more of a benefit of the doubt on that type of play if it wasn't JJ, he already finds creative ways not to score...but at least thanks to Bouch it turned into a good moment with him getting off the hook unlike poor Stefan :P

Ya, way to be on top of it.:shakehead

I'm sure they would have loved to sell more merchandise and make more money before. Fanatics' suppliers likely didn't forecast demand being this high.

It's really nice of them to make more photo book programs considering they were originally capped at 3,000. They could have easily said "tough ****" while other folks sell them on eBay for huge profits. Hope it screws over the amateur resellers trying to make a quick buck

Devils sent out e-mail saying they are ordering more programs and other merchandise.

And selling them at the next THREE games. Which is great news, as I was told it would be Sunday and done.

I still wont be able to get to one of those 3 games to get a puck, but at least that should sufficiently crash the EBAY prices so I wont have to pay $35. LOL

Harris had to be intoxicated haha. And I don't even think Lou was on the ice for the other 3 jersey retirements, or at least I don't think he spoke during the ceremonies. So that was a first.

That 20 years comment though. My first thought was "what? Is this statue supposed to erode in 20 years? Then I remembered the guy was obviously out of it haha.

You know....at that moment, I really REALLY wished that Bobby Holik was there to speak at the Podium.

You *know* he would've called Harris out for that.

Really great ceremony by the Devils - the only minor complaint I have is that there was no Chico. He was such a big proponent of Marty throughout his career & just an overall great guy. I would've loved to have seen him be part of the ceremony in some way - ideally telling a story or two about Marty, as it would've added to the presentations (could've cut Bettman's speech down). At the very least, he could've had a video tribute to Marty at some point during the game.

FYI, HBK....

Chico WAS THERE. He was on the post-ceremony show(just prior to the Game) with Johnny Mac and Deb. JMac stated that Chico was sitting next to him so he WAS THERE. Also, Chico was pretty hilarious(as usual).

Anyone get the Star Ledger today? Marty had a full page ad thanking the fans.

At least Marty's memories will last a lifetime, too bad his statue will only last like 20 years!:sarcasm:

OH man I didn't even see those lapel pins, the Mrs. is big on those. I got enough though, the puck I got was way better than the other one (the signed one in that link)

There was a stack of these on the counter of the line you were on so I assume you mean this one?

Actually, given this guy has sold 16 so far and EBAY doesn't display how many you have left for sale if you're at >=10 items, this seller bought a minimum of 26 pucks. I wonder if it is the guy I told you I saw with the bag of 30 or so pucks.

That's the one, when I asked for two she tried to give me one of those and the lame picture one they've had forever, had to correct her.

One nice gesture by an employee was the usher in 229 when I went to see the old crew, saw my son and gave her one of the white 30 pins, he was elated. I think it was the pin they gave to the STH's

Really again. Just an awesome ceremony. Made me very happy to be a fan of this team.

Was a great feeling seeing and hearing the whole place loud and as one. We don't get crowds like that enough.

i thought that was weird too but I think he just butchered the line. He's not a great public speaker and it's not really his gig either.

I think he meant something like "we got to enjoy you on the ice for the last 20 years and now we will have a statue to enjoy you outside for the next 20 years."

I love how Marty and Lou both gave politically correct statements about us being ''One of the best'' fanbases in the league or something to that extent.

Only because they work for different organizations now.
