Neither does anybody on defense not named Severson or Moore really. What Lovejoy needs is fewer minutes and a partner who can move the puck. Unfortunately the only guys in the system that are a left shot and have that skillset are Moore and Auvitu, and they have their own issues.

He never seems to panic, like most of our D besides Greene. Under pressure? Bank it off the boards.

Got space? Skate it a bit then make a pass that seems to always connect.

I just heard that he's a penalty magnet. I hope he can improve, because we sure can use his toughness next season with more young players arriving.

We look better when DSP is out of the lineup. He doesn't score enough points and is a complete liability in the defensive zone and pretty much the forward version glue trap like Lovejoy and Helgeson on defense.

I guess that's why the team looked real fast last night, no DSP.

30 points on the season for Severson. Career high.

Severson has 1 less point this season than Larsson and Greene had combined last season.

If this were a better team he would be shooting for 50 this season.


He is currently tied for 35th in the league in Defenseman scoring with Justin Faulk (25 years old), Ryan Ellis (26 years old), Mike Green(31 years old), Mark Giordano(33 years old), Nick Holden(29 years old), Jared Spurgeon (27years old), Dmitry Orlov (25 years old) and Andrei Markov (38 years old)

In case anyone forgot...Severson is 22 years old.

Extremely happy with Severson. His defense needs to improve but he's been a great player this year. He's a developing first pairing defenseman.

I don't hate Prout as much as I thought I would. He's very low-key which is what you want from a bottom pairing guy.

From an ancillary glance at NHL .com there are only 4 other Defensemen of the top 50 in scoring that are 22 years old or less besides Severson.

Last game I went to before that was the Islanders home game which the Devils won and then lost 10 straight.

I don't know where the spot for Prout is next year unless you play someone on their off side, or are all in on Sevs-Santini being our top four RHD, and send Lovejoy to the moon (or Vegas).
