I’d love it even more if Schneids would glide down the ice and beat him upside the head with his blocker. Just like his thuggish assault on Palms two years ago. He’s also hyped ASF. A very good tender that’s branded generational like Hank and Robby Lu because he plays in MTL.

I said it while it happened, but I think he played that like he expected Severson to take the guy down for the penalty shot, which is what he should have done by that point.

byron dragged severson as leverage that entire play. i was more pissed at him for blowing the shutout bid, cory gets a pass on that considering the overall performance.

Who are you talking to that is telling you Martin Jones is good? Taking in too many of Petey’s press scrums? He’s the most pedestrian tender in the league. Not the worst but the most pedestrian. Price is very good but he ain’t legendary, either.

Henrik is HOF and Price is HOVG. They’ve both been the backbone and carriers of some very average freight that is iced in front of them. I’ll give Price his due there and that can never be argued about Henrik if we’re speaking in logic.

Since when is this a tough building for him? Not until he came back from Boston.

Our record over them is pretty good since he's been the coach there. We were 3-0-0 against them this year, 2-0-1 against them last year and I don't even know in 2016-2017. I remember the stupid 50 shot against game, which was the one with the Price/Palmieri incident, but that was before Therrien was fired.

He looked solid. Only blip was on the first PP where he wasn't fast enough to get back and stop a break-away.

He was stationary at the blue line, Habs player winded up for a slap shot clear and Carrick was only able to get a piece of it to hold the line and it trickled behind him while a Hab was already skating forward. I don't get why people were saying he screwed anything up there.

Decent enough that I think he’s going to go on a tear and be relatively productive for the rest of the season while being solid defensively...we’re all going to excited and figuring him in as a bonafide NHL defenseman...then next season he will look like trash and be out of the lineup by November.

My prediction on Carrick is that people will hate him because he will play ahead of Santini when Vats gets back despite him being a better player than Santini. People are obsessed with Santini and idk why. As dime a dozen as a prospect can get.

it’s because of when he was drafted, and the hype made him seem like stevens-lite. i’m definitely guilty of that, i was really disappointed with his development this year. i think he’s almost like motteau, he would be a decent bottom pairing defenseman in a competent defensive system, but without structure he makes some glaring mistakes and doesn’t bring anything exceptional to the table

As Devils fans I'm sure most long for the days of the Stevens-esqe big strong defensemen capable of laying out an opposing player at any time (and by that I still mean a good defensement not Seth Helgeson 2.0). Its fun watching an opponent completely flattened and that is kind of what Santini was billed as through college. He just hasn't come close to that yet at the pro level.

I agree with you all and I think the myth of Santini was further ignited when he destroyed that one guy in our prospects game. I remember that clip being posted over and over again as something we had to look forward to. Then his untimely injuries and lack of development happened.
