The wild thing about Bratt is he had a brutal start this season, one of the worst on team that was chock full of bad starts.

If you compare his stats before Hall left and after the difference is crazy, similar to Gusev’s improvement. I know everyone will immediately blame Hynes but it also shows how good Bratt and Nico are together. They really do compliment each other, they need to find a different RW for them. I like Palms and Jack together, so the first line should be fun.

It could be something as simple as Bratt being late to a meeting or practice. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd hide that it's disciplinary by saying he needs a game off to learn.

It's interesting that they're trying Hughes on wing. It may be reading into it a bit, but I wonder if this is an audition/trial to see if he's capable there in the eventuality we draft a stud C with our first pick.

However, the more likely scenario is that it's Dad's night and Hayden's dad is there but Jesper's isn't.

But it's not completely out of character, both Hynes and Nas have now treated Bratt like someone that needs to be pushed. Maybe he does, or maybe they're both just tweedle dee and tweedle dum, I guess we'll find out with the next coach.

Even great coaches made that mistake with Patrik Elias when certain guys cracked the whip, he never really responded well when you took the hard *** approach on him, but when you left him alone like Larry, Ftorek, Pete, he shined even more.

I think Bratt plays as hard as his frame allows. He’s small and plays a skilled game but I don’t see him shying away from the area around the net. What do they want him to do out there drop the gloves against a guy six inches taller and forty pounds heavier? I never see Bratt play lazy. Maybe I’m missing something and he curses at his teammates on the bench and has a bad attitude or maybe Nas caught him peddling fish paste to the North American players in the back of the locker room?

This looks like one of those lineups someone will regurgitate in 4 years when we're "good" to remind us what the bottom of the pit looked like.

The Bratt scratching is weird, especially with more AHLers than NHLers suiting up, but was only yesterday admiring Hughes' abominable face-off numbers and thinking yuck give the noob a spell on a wing.

Hopefully he and Nico find some chemistry.
