That’s what I meant. I don’t think it left s great feeling among the decision makers. I like JQ, I think the new staff hasn’t given him a chance because he’s not their guy.

Disagree 100% on this. The staff doesn't care one bit who drafted the player or how he got there - they work with what they have and try to get the best out of every player and ice the best team.

Watching Drew Stafford's corpse just makes me sad because it just reminds me that long ago the Sabres were once a serious contender and not the total embarrassment to the sport we are today.

He was good, not great. It's only 1 game so far and Hynes has also said this was partially done to also try to get Zacha's line going.

They'll talk to Q about what he needs to do better and go from there. Highly doubt he won't be back in the lineup soon.

Obviously staff feels like JQ has more to offer and he needs to sit back for a bit. Happens with most young players. JQ better have more to offer because yeesh.

No, I didn't. Consider me an optimist I guess.

I read it as I've also seen it, which is while he hasn't done anything wrong, he hasn't done anything noticeable either. If they want to try and spark the 2nd line with Bratt still missing, and Noesen nor JQ getting much out of them there either, why not see if Stafford can do something?

It's a long, long season and not going to harm anything to give JQ a seat and teach him from afar. JQ's most valuable asset is his shot, but there's been no real offensive production on his part to start. He could maybe benefit from sitting for a game or two. He'll get his chances, I don't think this is any form of punishment at all.

It’s been a theory I’ve tossed around since last year. I just find it crazy he hasn’t been called up before now for a “real” opportunity. I think they want their own guys but it shouldn’t be for the sake of giving up on talented players.

Really hoping for a win tonight to end the home stand 5-0. But that first line of the Avs is dangerous as hell. And we have to lose a game at some point. But, they have been playing so well against teams just as good as the Avs, even if those teams were struggling.
