LOL, totally forgot that's where Vtec went. He's that forgettable. I thought it was going to be another Blackwood article and was like "what else would he have to say?".

Hope he's eating a good authentic a-japanese a-break-a-fast out in San Jose

Gallant sucks

I really wanted to hire him at the time. Not no more.

He was horribly overrated, even by me.

He seems to only average a little over two years in each job as a head coach. He didn’t even make it that long with the Rangers.

I think the fascination we had with Gallant in 2021 was that he took a Vegas time that little to no talent on the outside looking in and molded them into a team that took an identity of being cast offs and such to become a power house. In theory, he was gonna be a bad fit all along because the Devils had guys they knew that were their core and the high skill they had which is exactly what happened to him at NYR and why he fizzled out so quickly.

Vitek was terrible in games but he was 17-9. Extrapolated to the entire season, that would be 107 points...

Take all of that nonsense with a grain of salt.

When I interviewed Cangi he said he fully expected Stevens to be head coach after the 3 headed monster experiment. He also said we we're gonna draft a center and ended up taking Zacha.

I think the 'Devils are considering Green' means at best, he's a placeholder if we can't get anyone dec

The Devils are stacked, they have everything you need to be a consistent Cup contender. They have 2 elite centers, a defensive core that's basically set in stone. The only top 4 spot that's even open for the foreseeable future is the LHD that Siegs currently has. The top 6 is basically the same way as well. There's maybe one or two spots there that need shuffling year to year. They're in a spot where most rebuilders to contenders are in figuring out their long term identity in the bottom 6. And obviously, the goalie question.
they're stacked? and have everything you need to be a consistenet cup contender? yet they're missing the playoffs and really didn't compete for a spot over the last 2 months? They have no goatending, can't defend, and have no coach. That's just the obvious problems.

that's almost as funny as having people on here arguing that they actually watched the PLAYOFFS and were more than happy to have VV and Schmid back in net. How funy was that.

I'm taking about roster composition, I literally said they don't have goaltending and the obvious coaching hire is important to what they do. You're just arguing to argue

Devils Sucked this season.

Get a better coach.

Get a 1a Goaltender.

Get the owners on Fitz's ass to make sure he makes the right moves (or he's fired).

See ya next year.

The "Hero" who doesn't know how to use any break-away move other than the Juke.

The only thing left is to see him eclipse 73 points (he has 73 now) which he should get (even by accident) the remaining games.

Whoopty-damn-do.
The fact that in like 30+ years as an organization only 3 players have scored 70+ in three seasons is pretty pathetic as a whole.

Eh but it was also the Lou culture of sacrificing for the team. They were a defense-first team other than the Ftorek/Larry years. In a lot of other organizations Elias would have had 70-80 points every year at least.

He also got to play for Ruff the entire time.

The new guys didn’t even get to meet him and had to play for Green.

As much as all of us cried for Lindy’s firing, myself included, he’s much better than Green. I knew this all along and was saying if you’re gonna fire him you can’t just replace him with his stooge associate.

The stooge associate also coached the forwards and power play. The forwards/scoring his underachieved all year long, while the power play he coached has grossly overachieved all year long and has played more like a bottom 5 power play and probably a bottom 1 power play since November.

Goes without saying but a couple some new guys brought in who are middle six types that have heaviness and will grind all day.

Yeah ruff needed to go at the very least this summer, but green is worse. I do wish though we could have seen Lindy with this goalie duo.

I think Fitz understands what needs to be done. I expect the same core but with way better complementary elements.
I’d have to think he has a good pulse on what we need and what we don’t need.

First thing is Green needs to go. We would struggle to make the playoffs with prime Cory in Green’s system. The two post deadline goalies have numbers on par with prime Cory and we’re under 500 lol.

I think he knows someone like Bahl is way over his head this year. I think he knows Smith needs to hang them up or at the very least not be on our team next year.

The bottom 6 needs a shakeup. I think that shakeup could be just getting Bastian back, who I was down on earlier in the year and thought maybe he wouldn’t be on the NHL team next year. I think he’d be an upgrade at this point.
