Marty will realize quickly how bad of a goalie he is

If he didn't realize it after this season, I'm not sure when he will. Maybe the winning really skewed things for him. This was the absolute worst I've ever seen him play over the course of a full season. He was really good from late October to late November. For the last few seasons before this we have at least seen him play really good for about a half a season. This past season it seemed to only last for month.

No way he finishes with a sub .900 percentage.

It wouldn't shock me. He finished just a little bit ahead of that this year.

After what I saw last season, I don't expect him to look that good.

I do sincerely hope he gets to 700 wins and 125 shutouts, and I will be cheering him on still cause he's my favorite player ever. He was just really painful to watch at times last year, so I'm skeptical of him doing well.

He was good for much longer than that.

From October 26 to January 14th He had 13 wins, 7 losses, 2OTL, a 2.13 GAA, a .910% and 3 shutouts.

910 save percentage is pretty average. He had a 940+ from late October to late November.

He could barely keep a .900 with one of the best defenses in the league..... Good luck

He dipped below 900 a couple times this year. Once in December and he was at 899 during Olympic break.

I'm just saying....It wasn't all bad.

And also he actually had a pretty decent stretch in March - until that stinker against Florida. March 1 through March 27th - 8 games 4-3-1 with a .916%

The cap is....

Going down

Renaud Lavoie ‏@renlavoietva 3m
Right now the cap for next season will be at $68M and that's causing problems. But wait ! NHL and NHLPA are still talking. Final # to come.

Wait? The 71 number isn't firm? Or do you mean next year?

They really should finalize the cap number before the draft, no? Why has this gotten so contentious?

Anaheim will trade Bonino, Sbisa plus 24th overall pick and teams will swap third-rounders once deal goes through

Alot less

Not really. Bonino is a great player and basically replaces Kesler in the line-up while they gain the other assets of a first rounder and Sbisa, who clearly needed a change of scenery. I think it's a pretty fair deal.

I don't know how Vancouver doesn't insist on one of, Etam, Palmieri, Vatanen or that number 10 pick they got from Ottawa.

Bonino, showed promise this season but he is a 26 year old undrafted player making 2.1M...Meaning no entry level contract or cheap years.

In fact, Vancouver took in as much money as they sent and really got no youth to speak of....

Sbsia is a stay at home guy making 2.9 Million. He is only 24 years old (he'll be 25 before the season starts), but he is a RFA after this season.

I personally think this is a TERRIBLE deal for Vancouver.

I would like to see Marty play for Montreal or TB. Montreal cause he always said he wanted to play there if he went anywhere else, and TB so I could get to see him play 40 minutes down the road from me.

I would definitely use some of this money I've saved from dieting and not eating as much to see some Lightning games if I know he's gonna be starting. I would even wear my Brodeur Devils jersey to the games.

It will be hard to see him play elsewhere, I wish he would retire but I can't make that decision for him. We just have to much invested in Cory for him to be back.

Bonino (26) put up 22g and 49 PTS in 77 games playing 16:14 ATOI. Signed for 3 years at 1.9 million.

4.5 OPS + 1.5 DPS = 6.0 PS (career high)

Sbisa (24) put up 1 goal and 6 PTS in 30 games with 17:03 ATOI. Signed at 2.1 million for 1 more year.

.2 OPS + .7 DPS = .8 PS (career best 4.5 PS in 2011-12)

1st round pick

Kesler (29) put 25g and 43 PTS in 77 games with 21:49 ATOI. Signed @ 5mill for 2 years

3.0 OPS + 1.6 DPS = 4.6 PS (Career high 10.4 PS)

I think the Vancouver got a GREAT return.

I don't want the Habs to get Marty. If he struggles I could see their fans/media being ruthless vs him. Same goes for Toronto.

I would not mind TB in the East for Marty

Bonino was on the 4th line last year and in the AHL before that he is 26 years old...He was an undrafted college signing......This was a throwaway for Anaheim....This is a Jason Krog type player.
