That is true. If he's only the backup though I don't see a huge problem. Could be a problem if he needs to take over for Price in the case of an injury and struggles.

He would get torched playing behind Toronto.

Bonino was on the 4th line last year and in the AHL before that he is 26 years old...He was an undrafted college signing......This was a throwaway for Anaheim....This is a Jason Krog type player.

That makes it more impressive if he put up 49 PTS playing on the 4th line/ PP.

Greene was undrafted. I don't think too many people would consider him a throwaway after his 2009-10 season.

Completely agree with this. His numbers will drop in Vancouver. Solid player, but nothing more than a 3rd liner.

I don't think the package was that great. At least one of the pieces should have been a little more high end. Murray didn't even have to part with the 10th overall pick he got from Ottawa.

Bryan Murray in Ottawa can't be overly thrilled about this. Seems like he's looking for a big return for Spezza and I can't see a team now giving anything more than Vancouver just got. Most likely less, actually. Spezza is older, signed for only one year while Kesler is signed for two, counts for $2M more against the cap, and while he may be more productive he isn't the all around player Kesler is.

Makes me think the market is poor because teams are hoping to sign free agents. Wouldn't players like Kesler and Spezza bring better returns after all the better UFAs are already signed?

Yup. We NEED him pretty badly. We can't be trading away forwards for other forwards. I'd rather trade Boucher or Matteau than Henrique, though I don't wanna trade them either.

You don't trade 'under 25' assets when your best forward prospect is Reid Boucher.

Agreed. The Habs media over there would annihilate him the first game he struggles.

At least in Tampa, they're a lot more forgiving....

I don't think Zajac is a core player at that contract hit. Maybe if he was Henrique's age.

29 year old C who plays 20 mins a game. How is he not a core player and better yet what does his CAP hit have anything to do with it?
