I don’t know. What you’re suggesting would seem to make the most sense but even with Blackwood playing out of his mind, it’s still going to be very difficult winning many games with this lineup. They’re paper thin in the talent dept. The losses will take care of themselves either way.

Well 3 of those games were against Detroit and LA so that 7-3 is a bit misleading. And the schedule is about to seriously ramp up in difficulty over the next couple weeks. It just isn’t necessary to sit Blackwood and it’s annoying. He deserves to play. To hell with the standings.

Oh, I agree. We should be trying to win as many games as possible. I'm tired of the losing and the players probably are too. They need to break this culture that seems to have become apathetic towards losing. Draft position be damned.

LOL it is, but really at this point anyone watching this game this year would also be watching if it was 1:30 in the morning.

Plus to be fair a lot of locals complain about 7 PM starts over 7:30 cause it’s too early for many to get home from work, then go to the game.

We can all be skeptical but Cory was good last game. Frankly I’d rather stress him and see how he responds. The worst thing the team could do is play Schneider in sheltered starts and convince themselves he is worth keeping around as a backup only to find he is still fragile. Better to learn that now.

Yeah tbh I’d rather play Blackwood for the extra winnable game now then (to take a Bleed saying) use Cory as the crash test dummy more when the schedule ramps up. I don’t want to see another nine goal in Calgary type game from Blackwood cause the team gets caved in against a superior opponent.

Nah I think they actually do want to give him a chance to play while he’s feeling good since the whole year has been a struggle for him. He’s on the team, it’s a sympathy play as much as anything - they’re not going to literally treat him like a leper as much as we may want them to.

Schneider vs Jones. As bad as Jones has been the last two years, it's still not as bad as Schneider, although he's managed to be really bad (.890%-something) over 120 games or so, while Schneider hasn't been allowed (rightfully) to get into that many games the last two years.

San Jose is just below us in the standings. It would be a real shame if Cory crapped the bed tonight.

If he finishes strong why wouldn’t you bring him back for two more years? Seems pretty obvious to me. This last stretch of good play is the real Cory.

The thing about Cory starting that seems odd to me is that we play Saturday and Sunday, so you'd think they'd give Blackwood one of those games off instead of playing him in both. If they do end up splitting those starts that's 3 starts in 4 games for Cory.

Not that we have anything to play for, so I guess ultimately it doesn't really matter.
