good job hayden.. i know all the smart fans we have think the simmonds and hardens of the world are useless slugs but they really are not.. interesting first game without simmonds and hughes gets run..... get used to it guys its gonna happen more this season...

Yep. But that is going to fall on Deaf ears of course.

When opposing teams believe you have ZERO Enforcers or people that make you pay for taking advantage of their young players, they pull sh-t like this.

Tonight was the perfect example of what happens when you don't have someone WHOSE *REPUTATION* is a deterrent from taking runs.

Good on Hayden for giving Bertuzzi what he deserves but I agree with you that a lot of teams are going to start doing this now that Simmonds is gone.

I mean, Hughes kinda shredded Fabbri's knee. That's why they were going after him, which they would have done even with Simmonds. I hate that no one will talk about Fabbri's subtle elbow to Jacks head right before that, though.

And Hughes kinda was in the box.

And the Red Wings kinda scored a PP goal.

The Revenge should've been over and done with then and there.

Taking a run at Jack with the game well out of hand was pure BS and Bertuzzi deserved every bit of that hockey stick to his ugly face.

It's a suspension that is well-worth it for Hayden.

You know that's not the way it works. Come on now.

I agree that I don't feel at all bad for that flopper getting hit with a crosscheck after going after Jack, though.

I think it was already happening. Simmonds just stopped taking people to task for it.

It's not the way it works?

So in other words, it's perfectly okay to be a f'n sore loser and go after young players in the closing seconds of a game you lost?

Looks like I need to look up the NHL manual for any updates....
