The one concern I have about his game is the lack of sog he has so far. Without looking it us I think he only has 4 in 12 games so far.

Yeah his upside is kind of limited if he's going to provide zero offense (or zero physicality like Santini).

I actually agree with this. Some here weren't being fair to him.

I was pretty "whatever" about it so It's nice to see him show improvement on the ice. God knows we need some improvement.

Kid’s got game. There obviously isn’t a tremendously high ceiling with him but he’s steady. He’s been a good pickup for this team.

With his size and skating I don't know if that's true. Likelihood of him fully reaching that potential might be low, but I think there is plenty of room for growth.

Yeah if he settles into a being an pretty good defensemen that can put up about 20 points that would do wonders for us. God knows we need some D that can actually play some defense. Greene is good but could be on the decline soon, and Santini is looking pretty good lately too at least.

I don’t know that people were saying Mueller was a bust (I haven’t looked through the thread so maybe I’m wrong?), just that
- Mueller cost a lot in the trade
- Mueller wasn’t playing great

I’ve missed the past week of games, so it’s great to read that Mueller is playing well. I was definitely against the trade, but will be very happy to be wrong. Fingers crossed Mueller can keep this up.

My biggest concern with him earlier in the year was that he was bad even in the AHL last season and very bad his first few games here. I thought he just sucked. Good to see him playing well, let’s hope he can keep it up.

It's almost like he's an NHL caliber defenseman that's been polishing his game in the minors for three years because he's 22 and his NHL team had veteran depth on defense

Well don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean to say that he’ll just be serviceable and that’s it. That would be selling him way short. I meant to say that it’s just very unlikely that we struck gold here and he’s going to blossom into a top pairing stud. I definitely agree that he has potential though. From what I’ve seen so far, I expect him to be an important player for us moving forward.

There were definitely some users using the word bust or if not outright saying it certainly skirting around saying it.

There were plenty saying both.

To which I noted (more times than I can count) that it's ridiculous to judge a 22 year old rookie defenseman with 50 games played as a bust and/or "not worth a 2nd round pick".
