It's probably easier to find wingers than a good third line center on the UFA market. Trocheck, Strome and other better ones are too expensive and they probably want to get a top6 role. I'm fine if the third line is, for instance, Paul-Boqvist-Marchment. And then they can get Niederreiter or Nichushkin to play with Nico or Jack. Yes, I know, it's not going to happen.

I think the Devils get two or three new forwards on the offseason. One or two of them are probably UFA signings and the second or third one comes via trade.

I'm not 100% sure Vegas will have the luxury have "deciding" much this offseason. They will have to part with a nice piece to field a team and I don't see any NHL team doing them favors on their more overpaid/older players (Dadonov, Pacioretty, Martinez) and I don't think Vegas will give up their great value players (Theodore, Stephenson, arguably Marchessault and Karlsson)

They can make that Dadonov trade with some other team this offseason. Same situation with Martinez. Tyler Johnson and some other guys are good examples that there are always desperate GM's who make questionable trades.

Just adding my unwanted two cents here regarding the Boqvist convo that ended awhile ago :


Boqvist is a USEFUL player to have.

As opposed to Kuokkanen who can be replaced by a cardboard cut-out and you won't be able to tell the difference.
