I don't think we are really built that way. Who's supposed to play that kinda game on that team? Grandpa Ovechkin? Hagelin? Panik? Vrana?Sheary? Dowd? They got Hathaway, Wilson and kinda washed up Oshie with some grit to their style. That's all.

They aren't necessarily built that way, but they've shown they can win that way plenty in the past when necessary. They haven't this year though.

We’re losing, but I didn’t hate the period. At least the effort level was there, even if execution was not. Also, the Hags barrel roll at center ice was hilarious. The viewer is following the lofting breakout pass and when we get to center ice we see Hags rolling like a dog trying to get a treat

How long ago the past was though? The cup run ? Outside of Eller the bottom six looked completely different. Ovechkin was younger and actually was hungry to play. Kuznetsov probably wasn't addict yet. Piece by piece, you kinda get a different picture and different players for the most part
