McLeod has definitely stepped up his game. Started in last year’s playoffs.

i just dont see anything from Bastian that id rather have over Lazar currently or Nosek when hes back; heck, id even take this years showings of Willman over him, he has great speed for forechecking

he hasnt been a major detriment but i do think hes been a net negative so far this year

Timo really might be better off away from Jack or Nico and able to be the puck dominant guy.

I don't think he's hit his stride yet with us since the trade...but...I'm not sure he's the "gamebreaker" people thought we were getting. He seems more like a very high end grinder...kind of like a Zach Parise but with a bit less skill and defense. He was basically a point-per-game guy in SJ while being "the man" right? Having to share a puck with the likes of Hughes and Bratt and surrounded by plenty of other guys are talented...him getting ~70 points seems about right to me. He's well on his way to that.

There was a narrative here for some reason before he was acquired that he was a massively skilled sniper of some kind, but elite grinder is exactly what he's always been. He's a volume shooter. He's a pretty good puck carrier but not really a huge playmaker. He's very similar to Parise and that's a role this team needs.

I thought he had a really good game tonight. Made a lot of the plays you want to see from him.

I mean Nico's not really a dominant guy while they sucked to start this year in their couple of games they were great together last year. If Nico gets back to where Nico should be though then I wouldn't mind a Bratt-Haula-Meier line. Might be better off putting Bratt with Nico and away from the big volume shooters in an effort to force him into shooting more himself.

edit: just looked at it again and realized there is 3 full days off after the caps game.....rest up injuries and work on things in practice....

Avs are going to be pretty pissed.

Whomever is going to be in net (Akira/Vitek), they're going to have to stand on their head if we are to have any shot of escaping with at least a point.
