He also beat us in 2011 when we ran out of gas during the Lemaire run. He was in Ottawa then.

And Josefson shouldn't come out of the lineup. He's got two shootout goals in his last 2 or 3 shootouts.

We could use him as a shootout specialist. He better not be sitting for poo poo once he's cleared to play.

not only just the shootouts Josefson has played well in all phases of the game, guy is really trying to prove himself. would love to see him get more ice time going forward.

Josefson and Brunner have already contributed more than Tootoo probably will all year.

It will be a joke if anybody playing right now had to sit for him.

Agreed, both had been very good.
Brunner brings something "flashy" offensively, trying things. Sometimes it doesn't work, but it still better than not shooting the puck and cycling for nothing.
Josefson seems to be quicker than before. Brings a lot of speed, works hard defensively and brings something on the faceoff circles as well.
I don't want them out, especially now that Josefson has some confidence back.

The line adjustment was key. He out the line of jj Bruner and Boucher together and winnepeg had to back off a little and respect their speed I really think it helped set the time for the period.

Zubrus I thought filled the role in the 4 line really well. Nothing wrong w gio zub and rutoo on 4th line still enough jump more physical and it moves jj speed to too 9 role. Insert cammalari w jags and zajac instead of clowe

We have two forwards set to return No way in hell he can sit jj. Or Bruner in my opinion. So who goes Boucher ? Clowe ? I would have said Ryder but he played ok last night even w out goal he was at least moving his legs

I don't think it's ever an effort issue. They are just not very good and were fortunate to get points. At least the SONs are progressing. That's all you can take from these games. Take away the 5-3-2 record because it's a total mirage aside from Tampa Bay game & 2/3rds of the NYR game. And I hate to say it but I have to give Pete credit for the record. I don't know how they are getting points quite honestly.

I think there will be growing pains w the young d. I think I saw glimpse if a team if maybe 1 or 2 pieces are added can be decent. When they out players out there that have some speed the
Y look fine.

In all honesty out worst two forwards this year so far are Elias and zajac. Both of whom usually start slow

Praise be to Allah! I didn't see the game, but thank god we have that ridiculous monkey off our back. Any word when Cammy and Havlat are back?

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but Peg scratched two of our once promising forward prospects, Cormier and Halischuk.

I had thought that both of them would have bright futures with us or in the league.
Cormier, I thought would be a tough 2nd or 3rd liner who would pop in 15-25 goals, win faceoffs, and play with sandpaper.

Halischuk wasa clutch goal scorer in juniors, saw him being a combo of Madden and Parise.

Rushed to Newark from an appointment to be there by the end of the first period. One of the worst games I've ever watched but the ending was worth it. You know times are tough when my neighbors and I celebrated the shootout win like it was 2012.

Josefson and Larsson should not be exiting the lineup. Really, really hope that Josefson is turning a corner - this is his final chance here and sure he knows it. Petey D better give him a fair shot because right now he has earned that much.

How sincere is Pete's quote regarding Severson towards the other young players? I hope they take it to heart.

Was at the game last night. Yeesh that was ugly hockey.

Noticed Severson was on the ice a lot and sometimes stuck out for a long shift, especially late in the third. Figures since Sal was no where to be seen.

Just realized I was at the last shoot out win in 2013 against the Jets.

“Schneids was pretty much the reason for the win tonight,” Clowe told me. “He was our first star. It was nice to get the win, but I think our game’s got another level. If we thought we played a good enough game tonight, we’re kidding ourselves. We’ve got to turn it up another level. That includes me as an individual right through all the guys. As a team, we’ve got another level.

“Like I said, we’ve got to give our head a shake if we think that’s the game we need to play to get a win in this league. It just wasn’t good enough. Schneids was the reason (the Devils won).

I would love Clowe to be Captain. I know he gets knocked for being Slowe.

It's a shame some of these players get publically lobotomized, but the Devils have some of the leagues best personalities. Instead, they all look like they play for Team North Korea.

Sooo what the heck does DeBoer do when Cammy and Havlat are ready to play? Brunner and Josefson showing they deserve to be in the lineup...

Josefson, yes. Brunner is questionable since he's directly competing with both of those forwards.

I would love to see the following:

When healthy:

Cammy Zajac Jagr
Havlat Elias Ryder
Clowe Henrique Zubrus
Ruutu Josefson Gionta

Gionta looks good as a winger and that line actually generates chances.

Brunner plays like a puppy. Lots of exuberance and energy, no clear direction, and very limited awareness. I love puppies. They're nice to have around and make me feel better. I'd never rely on a puppy to do anything for me, though.

If your you need to sit one of Cammy or Havlat to play Brunner, it's not that hard of a decision, IMO.
