Seney got a penalty as well so that leads to an automatic whistle when both teams committed an infraction. Correct call IMO. Also DeSmith did not even try haha, if there wasn’t a whistle who knows if Bratt would have scored.
Haha he definitely looked like he was not ready for the shot.

I just saw elsewhere that Zajac has 14 goals and 18 assists in his last 45 regular season games...not bad for a stonehands.

And I'm sure this has been mentioned before but:
6-1-1 at home
1-7 on the road

If you want to be generous and count the Sweden one as a road game (which it isn't since you get the last change) then 5-1-1 and 2-7.
I think the thing with Zajac is that he was so bad to start last season, he wasn't really as bad as he started and these might just be the odds evening out right now. I don't think he's as good at producing points as he's been this year or since that stretch of his last 45 games (which might be a better pace than his career high or around that pace), but he's also not as bad as many people think.

I thought Zacha had a good game, even though I'm disappointed it's 11 games and 0 points, so for now I think we can consider this a clean slate and a fresh start. He has 0 points in 1 game played.

I’d throw him on the second line left wing when Nico returns. Maybe he can add some points from that spot with less responsibility.

I think he might be better off being a winger, at least for now.

I never thought he'd stay in Binghamton for long, but I think the Nico injury brought him back up sooner. I thought he'd be there anywhere from a week to maybe a month or two if he still wasn't lighting it up down there, which he did.

Zacha was largely matched up against Evgeni Malkin tonight and did well considering. Not sure why people think Zacha should move to wing - it's going to be his defensive game that's going to keep him in the league.
Either that or 3C for him when Nico returns, thats if they are sticking with Travis at 1C.

They shouldn’t play Zajac over Nico.
‘Shouldn’t’ and what the staff will do are two separate things. They chose Zajac over Nico the other night and if that first line is still producing Nico will not be back on that line until they need to change things up again.

I already said it during the game, but I'd move Coleman up with Zacha and Bratt, and drop MoJo to the third line. I know MoJo and Bratt looked good in preseason, but Zacha and MoJo just does not work. I think Coleman fits Zacha's style better, and Bratt is versatile enough to where I think he can play with just about anybody.

If Zajac is still producing with that line when Nico gets back, I'd keep him there, but I wouldn't waste too much time in throwing Nico back up there when they go cold.

After Seney hit Kessel in the neutral zone, Kessel retaliated with a few slashes, hooks and then jumped Seney. The puck was in the net before Seney fought back. Premature whistle.....Devils ripped for a goal. Good on Seney to end up on top and win the fight! The kid is a warrior, stronger than his size and has huge heart

I agree with this.

If Zajac can keep producing, maybe do something like:

Hall-Zajac-Palmieri
Johansson-Hischier-Bratt
Coleman-Zacha-Anderson
Wood-Boyle-Noesen

I think Mueller was a slight negative in relative corsi (even strength) coming into this game, which is to be expected with the tough competition. Even Larsson was like a -2 or -3 something in relative corsi his last year here in that role.
Mueller has a 2.42 rel CF%, which is the best on the team by far. He also has the best CF% at 50.22 despite facing the toughest competition with Vatanen.
