Anyone go to the game today? Lot of Devs jerseys in the crowd. But noticed one of them at the glass not even cheer after one of the Bernier goals.

While I don't disagree one bit, my believe is a successful Devils team is based on balance. Balanced defense and balanced scoring. 3 or 4 games from any line or individual is not inconsistent. As long as they are playing responsible.

Agreed. Depth made the Devils successful at the end of last season.

Josefson is the one that frustrates me the most though. With a killer instinct he would a legit top 6 center. There's improvement, he's starting to own the neutral zone with his skating for example, but once the blue line is crossed, he's soft and undecided with the puck. My concern is that players don't act as scorers at 22. At this age, you're good at that or you're just not.

I want kid to prove me wrong.

Hedberg got to be the best backup you can have in a team

We definitely like having him as the backup. Glad to have him for another two seasons.

Why is that so nuts, he was on the first line a bit last year?

He's a great complementary forward for the top 6, and he has chemistry with both Kovalchuk and Elias. I don't think anybody should be complaining about him being on the top line.

Season is still young, some talented linemates that he can play with consistently will help him get to that point.

Must be one of those Devils fans that's still p-ssed at Bernier for that killer penalty in the finals last year.....

...or it could be Jim who is upset that Kovy didn't score.... :sarcasm:

Because I always thought Zubie was on the 2nd line.

And I'm not complaining. :help:

Why do some here think that I'm complaining about the notion of Zubie being on the 1st line?

I'm simply saying that Zubie is more suited to being a 2nd-liner, IMO.

I've met lou a few times. Good guy and will talk to you. Very good experiences.

Don't know if Josefson will ever become a scorer. Doesn't just happen overnight.

Even if Josefson never becomes a big scorer, I'm ok with it. He's more of a playmaker and a defensive centre.

Still like to see him consistently with wingers that can also make things happen. I don't think he will ever be a solo threat, but with help he should be somewhat of a threat. Still its going to be assists mostly with him which is fine.

I see Josefson developing into a solid defensive center with good play making instincts. Perfect for all situations and a third line role. Puts up something like 10g 30a a season, almost like a Gomez lite with better D.

I went actually. First game I've been to in years and first away game. Row 3 behind the Devils bench.

Got the ice girls in there for ya guys.:naughty:

Man, Moose played awesome. Every save a loud "MOOOOOOOOOOSE" would be cheered :yo: There weren't that many fans, in general, at the Coliseum, but I'd say a quarter of them were Devils fans. Can't believe Bernier got those two goals, wow! Seems like his positioning has really improved.

I was cheering for Clarky the entire game and then he went and got that open netter. Everyone besides the Devils and the fans hate David Clarkson. Refs and whoever we play haha  Bobby Butler played well, made sure I got some support screams in there for his first game.

Elias was SO pissed after that chance he had. After a call that Elias didn't like, he was complaining to the refs and when he took a look at P DB, Pete was motioning to tone it down! haha

Seeing Salvador dominate the defensive play was really sweet. He works the boards like no other with such confidence. He looks like a real vet out there. Honestly the game was so well played by both teams, we just got the better chances.

Baby Gio was really hurting after a deflection off the skate and that "Charging" call really got his skates all ****ed up. If it wasn't for that deflection of his skate, he wouldn't have been "drawing" that penalty as much.

It seemed like what Pete told them was to focus on defensive play. Seeing Henry and BG blocking shots and working the slot and points.

Most Isles fans were really cool to talk to. A lot of "Any fan of hockey is a friend of mine." was said by them to me.

I'm sure I could add more to this, but I feel like this is enough for now.

LETS GO DEVILS! MOOOSE
/drunk

Edit: Before the game, Pete was standing behind the bench and looked behind the glass really quick at the fans and I pointed to my jersey and mouthed "DEVILS!". He gave a smirk and a nod. Cool dude! Also, I saw Bill Jaffe (Islander's announcer) near the concession stands while play was going on and he recognized that I knew him by my reaction and said "How's it going?" He was with his kid so I didn't want to bother him. I think I was so shocked at seeing him, I just stood there with a grin.

I dont believe Josefson is a goal scorer and never will be. I believe i said it before he is a playmaker a guy who will have 10-20 goals but 25+ assists. Of course thats with talented wingers, or on the halfboards on the PP making passes
