I've long said I hate the majority of our fanbase and I stand by that.
Minus you fine people, of course.

"And then the fans found out I wasn't from New Jersey, and they came after me. Like, physically," Hughes said.
He claims that while running around the 300 level of the arena, a man accosted him for being unworthy of the Devils sweater -- a ringer, dancing for money, instead of a true fan. The incident was close to boiling over when security stepped in and escorted the angry fan out of the arena.
But the abuse didn't stop there. Hughes said fans sent threatening messages through his website, saying he wasn't welcome at the arena and he would "get smacked" if he showed up to perform again.
I don’t even remember this guy but I do remember when we had a “game host” who I hated with every fiber of my being. I hope that guy is in a gutter somewhere with whatever bozo thought was a good idea to hire him.
I'll take things that probably never happened for $500.
There is also no 300 level in the arena but since this probably happened in his dreams that does make more sense.
I remember seeing him win a few key offensive zone faceoffs, particularly on the power play.Without looking at stats I feel like Hughes has gotten much better recently.
I prefer a peace pipe.I mean it sounds a little far fetched but some New Jerseyans are insanely tribal about their state.
For the love of god don’t ruin Jack’s rookie season by sticking Goose on his line. I can’t believe a winger can be that much of an anchor on line.

The guy has worked in probably 20 arenas at this point and you expect him to know the layout of all of them?
Given the amount of hate this guy received on message boards, I'll assume there's some truth to this - not that any of those people did anything, but certainly the attitude of '**** this guy' was prevalent.

If he ever walked by 233 back then I'm sure that happened.
It's also weird that there's no collective memory of this incident.
I remember the guys appearances. The majority of the crowd was way into him every time. It pretty quickly became clear to regular attendees that he was a ringer(who wears 5 shirts to a game other than a hired employee?) but since the crowd got pumped up by him he was generally liked.
I do remember after the outing of the article that he still got a big reaction from the crowd but there was now some smaller negative reaction. He wasn’t asked back anymore soon after.
eh, the road trip is over in 3 days. I highly doubt he joins the team. That doesn't happen often.
I've never been a big fan of that kind of promotion, but I cheered for that guy. I know it's not east to do that stuff. And hell, I'd rather watch that than a cookie racing a pretzel and an Italian ice on the jumbotron.
