Was told to expect Predators to also announce Derek Roy signing at Riberio press conference in next hour.

How many centers do we need? Especially old ones (Fisher, Cullen, Jokinen, Ribeiro, Gaustad). Add Roy to the mix and you have no room for the young guys. I don't like it. Ribs is a good low risk, high potential reward more. Roy is garbage. The only thing that I can think of is that Poile is collecting rentals for trade deadline deals. Look at all of the veterans that we have on one year deals now.

My goodness at all the centers. I would expect Jokinen and possible Wilson to be moved to wing now.

Either Fisher is not playing this year and they know it or we are trading some contacts. I don't think it's necessarily anything big but I think we will trade players for picks

Confirmed.... WOWOWOWOOWOWOWOOWOOWOWOOW

Poile loves his midget centers...

something has to give up front, we now have 18 NHL ready forwards. So much for the kids playing.

I don't understand either. IMHO Wilson is better than Roy.

I guess Forsberg and Watson now have no shot at the NHL this year and Jarnkrok's chances are dwindling daily.

Why is Wilson better than Roy? Wilson has been nothing but 'potential'. He in reality has been nothing but a 30-point forward.

Also, Roy put up 37 in 75 games last season. Wilson had 33 in 81.

So explain to me why Wilson is the better player.

Again, for 1 year @ $1M, I'm totally on board with this. A trade is definitely coming though. You have to either think Wilson is the odd man out or he is moving to wing and other pieces are replacing him.

I wouldn't have an issue with these deals if it didn't steal the ice from our younger guys who need experience at the NHL level, mostly because I think they are ready.

You gotta believe Wilson will be traded very shortly, not a Lav guy I guess.

I think Wilson for a pick will be announced soon. Just a hunch.

If Roy on a one year deal forces a Wilson trade, I will be very disappointed to put it lightly. Ridiculous.

Not sure if he's a quality center anymore. More of a rover/pp specialist, but once again you can't go wrong at that price.

The combination of the 2 signings is the only question. The price is fantastic. Certainly creates some flexibility.

Blues fan here... Roy was pretty terrible last season, but mostly because we paid 4 million and got a player worth about a million. A lot of his assists came on the power play and were nothing more than simply winning the face off back to Steen. Maybe he can turn it around in Nashville, but he was a huge disappointment.. Good luck!
