Maybe this is overly simplistic but I wonder if the bad home and good away record is a function of last change and line matching.

If Lavi is sticking to a flawed matching strategy then it could backfire when he can line match with last change. OTOH if you're icing lines simply based on zone and fatigue/rest, maybe things are simplified and the talent just takes over.
