PASTRNAK PROPELS BRUINS PAST MAPLE LEAFS IN POTENTIAL FIRST ROUND PREVIEW
David Pastrnak (0-3—3) factored on three of four Bruins goals as Boston (36-13-14, 86 points) kept pace in the tightly-contested Presidents’ Trophy race and extended the club's win streak against the Maple Leafs to six contests for the fifth time and first since a franchise-best eight-game stretch from Oct. 20, 2011 to March 7, 2013 (spanning seasons or otherwise).
* Pastrnak (38-52—90 in 63 GP), who became the eighth player in franchise history with consecutive 90-point seasons, boosted his career totals versus Toronto to 18-17—35 (27 GP since 2014-15). His 1.30 career points per game against the Maple Leafs is the third highest by a Bruins player (min. 20 GP) behind Phil Esposito (1.49 P/GP) and Jean Ratelle (1.47 P/GP).
* Despite losing key pieces of their roster like Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, Pastrnak and first-year captain Brad Marchand have helped the Bruins get back in the chase to finish as the regular season’s top team following an NHL record-setting campaign in 2022-23. In addition to becoming the seventh different franchise to prevail with the Presidents’ Trophy in consecutive seasons, the Bruins (4x) can also join the Red Wings (6x) as the second to attain it on five different occasions.

Definitely not too early to start talking about him becoming the Bruins all time goal leader.
As of today (including the Pittsburgh game) he’s got 341 goals and Bucyk sits atop the list at 545…..204 ahead of Pasta.
Pasta turns 28 in May.
You’d think he’ll score at least 4 more this year.
Then if he averages 40 for the next 5 years that puts him at the 204 to tie the record.
Age 29 — 2024-2025 - 40 goals
Age 30 — 2025 - 2026 40 goals
Age 31 — 2026 - 2027 40 goals
Age 32 — 2027 - 2028 40 goals
Age 33 — 2028 - 2029 40 goals
Of course he could score 50+ in any given year, and do it earlier….but I’d bank on the 28/29 season.

He has 40 goals and may get 50. It does feel like he has been getting more assists of late.

Pasta had 52 assists in 82 games last season, he has 53 in 66 games, this season, so yeah it's looking that way.

Its kind of crazy when you thinking about that at 27 years old Pastrnak among all-time Bruins....

He's currently 200 goals back of being tied for 1st with Bucyk. With 7 more years he'd need to average just under 30 goals to hit this mark. Assuming Pastrnak plays his entire career in Boston, I don't think its unrealistic that he finishes statically as one of the franchises top 5 producers and maybe even top 3.

Aside from Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, the Bruins have never had anyone quite like David Pastranak. Oh, he'll very likely be top 3... Bruins of all time.
Some guys get paid and pack it in. Pasta gets paid and plays even better. This is the best he’s ever been complete game wise. Maybe it’s the letter on his chest but he seems like he means business now.

Maybe it is. It's very possible he'll have a different letter on his chest one day. I know some think McAvoy might be the heir apparent, but I don't think that's as much of a lock as it seems on the surface.
And yes, he IS underpaid. I wouldn't trade him for anyone except Connor McDavid.
I don't think so either.
Pasta is a clear leader on the Bs and also seems to be the face and spokesperson as well

Pasta in the late 1st round and Brayden Point in the 3rd round were the steals of the 2014 draft.

perhaps. Brad is excellent and I hope he will be around for a couple of years.
After that Pasta would be a good choice IMO
