Bill's comments are kind of annoying actually. He is making excuses for the breakdowns. I like Bill, but I think him being a Lappy fan is affecting his judgement.
I felt like they were more committed to an active PK with the previous games and at times during the last game.
Here are some stills I selected from each PPG against:
1:
Above, 47 sees an eligible shooter. He begins committing to the blocked shot, leaving the forward at center right of the still alone.
47 bailing out here on a low danger shot. Almost have a 4v1 here. The Flyers forwards are not collapsing fast enough and 47 has taken himself out of the play.
Uh oh, the puck got to the uncovered forward. 1-0 Senators
2:
3v1 here. Neither defenseman is marking a pressuring forward. 14 is hooking his mark to cover for 12 and 3, who are out of position. 58 is wide open
3v1 more apparent now. Gotta hope that puck doesn't end up with 58...
uh oh... 3-3
3:
2 forwards are puck watching 1 player at the point. If the puck gets through, there's a 4v2 set up.
The puck got through. Since the goalie's square to 89, the Senator cross ice has a high danger chance if he can get a shot off.
89 slapped a pass to 71 instead, but a juicy rebound ends up with the Senator far cross ice, which he buries. 6-4 Flyers
