That's great, both are good hockey people who will bring experience as both former players and former coaches. They both come from winning organizations as well. :handclap:

Do you guys think it's a coincidence that both players responsible for the defensive prospect's development were offensive defensemen (Breezer & Ramage)?

Interesting. I'd like it if they replaced a guy like Carriere with a numbers guy, but Lacroix is decent hire.

Damn! Weird to say the least:

Ramage's wiki

Originally Ramage was not eligible to seek accelerated parole because his crime was considered violent. The federal government is abolishing legal provisions that free some non-violent, first-time offenders as soon as six months into their sentences. Ramage’s full sentence is to expire in July 2014.

I guess he just became UFA? :sarcasm:

Nice moves!

Ramage worked a lot with the London Knights defense corps before he was an "official" part of the team and is often credited for improving J Tinordi's game.

Ramage was not known as an offensive defenceman - in the second half of his career particularly...he was an all-around blueliner that could do it all. He was a much different player than Breezy. Very tough to play against in his own zone, very physical and a good fighter.

The press release also mentions:
Trevor Timmins was appointed vice president of player personnel, as well as retaining his responsibilities as the Club’s director of amateur scouting.
Based on how well he's done as head scout, I'd say he earned that promotion. :handclap:

EDIT: Someone might want to update the thread title to include Timmins name in it.

Weird he leaves them after a cup run. Hopefully Lacroix didn't run that awful Rangers powerplay last season, though it would transition well with the Habs powerplay from last season that Gallant supposedly ran.

Rob Ramage is an interesting hire considering his criminal background.
