NYR would want the 1st + a prospect, not Smith or Ritchie who are basically proven 4th liners and not much more. Ritchie would be included anyways for cap reasons hopefully he just needs to go.
Wouldn't mind trading for Zuccarello considering Nill says he would only give up a high draft pick if they're not a rental, but with that being said he also does not want to trade that pick anyways. Maybe Nash is a little cheaper

Try to convince Jim Nill to basically give up 3 first round picks. And no way you're getting our top forward prospect (Robertson) unless he's the main piece going back.

Robertson was a second round pick and Nichuskin is 23 next week so its not "Nill giving up 3 first round picks"

Robertson amazingly fell to the 2nd round and Nichushkin is a young roster player with proven talent that could still turn into a big NHL scorer if he gets his stuff together here in a bigger role. Tufte is the 3rd first rounder I was referring to

No it didn't.
This is the first time the Stars have hosted the draft in their 25yr existence.
Also of note, the whole were hosting the draft and not trading our pick because of it is stupid.
The only way Nill should trade it is with top 5 protection because the team is so damn Jekyll and Hyde that they could miss the playoffs again and potentially win the lotto.
Otherwise, deep draft or not, with Nill and McDonnel in charge you trade that pick 10 out of 10 times.
They've proven to be incompetent when it comes to drafting, except with the gift of 3rd overall which even Milbury could have gotten correct

They originally started with Tufte/Robertson, 1st, Nichushkin
So it definitely made more sense to add more assets into it.
