Let me guess because I’m incredibly smart- this would be a great move if he signed with the Leafs. Right?

A 2 hour commute from London everyday to play hockey in Toronto would make total sense. Who doesn't want to spend their days sitting in the worst traffic in Canada to get to the rink.

3rd line role player at best, most likely 4th line (if this rumor becomes reality)
give him 6-8 5 on 5 minutes, 3-4 PP minutes a game, could give Dallas 10-15 goals, 20-25 points in 60-70 games.

This (possible) signing makes zero sense.

That kind of production would be well worth $1.5M

I think there are performance related bonus' involved here, would bring up the cap hit.

I'm guessing around 3 million then?

Perry loves Jamie Benn, good buds since the Olympics.

And will be 35 in two weeks. Ask Toronto how things went with Marleau.

Marleau was going to play his 38 year old season and coming off a 27 goal 46 point season. Pavelski is going to be 35 and is coming off a 38 goal season, and a string of 60+ point seasons dating back to 2013.

Jamie Benn has ball tickled many people. Cross checked that Edmonton guy when he was completely defenseless.

Roussel constantly crossed the line.

But.. since those guys are on your team its all fine and dandy and you love them.

No, I actually never liked Roussel. I’m not a fan of the agitators, usually.

Benn has done some dirty things, absolutely. But he’s not really known for his stick work, which is exactly what I don’t like about Perry.

I like this signing for the Stars. Low risk. I think Perry still has something left in the tank. At the very least, he'll give the Stars some depth.

He is replacing $3M for 0 goals Val Nuchushkin, who was scratched as often as Perry will probably be injured, so it can't help but be anything but an upgrade for the Stars. Or, he replaces Ritchie's' "grit" for about the same price.

Not really exciting, but just slightly possible that his experience is a difference maker, if not, no loss.

Probably gonna wind up the best signing, or at least the best $ to production ratio.
