I had so many prospects acquired that I decided to split them into two teams so it'll be easier and see and allow people to see the all-around talent the Rangers have. They're loaded up front for the future, stacked on defence with crazy depth and have some amazing young goalies ready to become NHL starters. Vote for the New York Rangers when it is time to vote. This team is built for the KLLR cup.

We have THE best prospect in Connor McDavid, as well as Jonathan Drouin and Valeri Nichushkin. Then we have Dal Colle and Virtanen who were very high draft picks. Konecny from 2015 is a great talent. Even if you may not have heard of some of my 2015 players, give them a look up. They for sure make my team a lot better. We have insane forward depth, good enough to make a second team like donut. We have 2 elite prospects in Lindholm and Jones on D and insane depth there to. Plus two top goalie prospects. Vote Preds!

vote :leafs over smashville.

Reasons why leafs > smashville:
1. Leafs depth, down the middle we have Sam Bennett a guy who was in talks to go 1st in 2014. Tomas Hertl, a guy who once scored 4 goals in his first NHL season, against a Stanley Cup final team. Teuvo Teräväinen could be a top 2 center on any rebuilders team, but mine with the center depth, he's also expected to take the 2nd line center position on the Blackhawks anytime now. Max Reinhart, brother of Sam and Griffin, is the weakest center in my line-up, but has 5 points already in the NHL. Smashville might have some good players at center, but after the top 2, they have random players playing center like Huberdeau.

2. Our defense, we have the best defensive corps out of all the rebuilders. Smashville might have Lindholm and Jones, but Ekblad and Hamilton are, and will be, way better defenders. Ekblad is the best defense prospect out there and Hamilton is a top 4 guy on Boston. After that we have Reilly, Beaulieu, Gardnier and Krug. Four players who have had NHL experience, with three of them already playing almost a full season, and the other one ready to crack an NHL roster soon.

3. NHL readyness, almost all of our player, maybe all, are NHL ready and/or have already played an NHL season, with 15 of them playing an NHL game, with 8 of them having playoff experience in the NHL.

So remember, vote :leafs over smashville.

Since when is Huberdeau a random center? He's a former 3rd overall pick who had one down year but has more tools to be betterr than the Leafs 3C. Leafs have depth at center sure, but Silfverberg was on my 5th line at wing and Wilson would be buried in my lineup. Huberdeau IS a center. Max Reinhart is not good at all.

Jones>Ekblad. No question. Lindholm and Hamilton are a wash. Reilly Brodie is very close too. Brodie is already a #2D. Risto>Beaulieu. Plus my depth. My D is better.
Also, who cares about NHL reediness? This is a rebuild cup. But I have that too. A majority of my players have a substantial amount of time in the NHL including 50 point players.

Dal Colle>Nylander
Drouin> Kutz
Virtanen > Silfverberg
McDavid>Bennett ainec
If you see Konecny play he is close to Hertl
My top 6, my depth, my D, my goalies. All better.

First of all I'd like to congratulate Donut on putting together a great roster and also being a good sport about all the crap he's had to put up with in this game.

Now, onto the teams.

I really drool at his 1st line, Johansen + Mackinnon is an amazing combo, although I'm not a huge fan of RNH. RNH is looking more and more like he's topped out as a 2C/1C on a bad team like Edmonton. He's small, hasn't shown that he has the offense yet (if at all) and has also had several injuries already in his career. I won't speak much about Johansen (especially because I think he can succeed in the NHL as a LW given that he held that position pre draft year) nor much about Mackinnon, since I also think he could succeed on the RW.

But it's obvious to me that Eichel >>> RNH. If McDavid is Crosby, then Eichel is Malkin. But that's not even 100% right, because some scouts actually have Eichel being drafted number 1 overall. We'll obviously see what happens on draft day, but I wouldn't count out Eichel yet - a lot will be important come december when the two will most likely meet as USA vs Canada comes to a head.

And even with Johansen and Mackinnon on the wings, I like my 1st line just as much as I like his, even more so because of Eichel.

Skinner is a two time 30 goal scorer at the age of 22, the same age as Johansen. He won the Calder his first year of play, and has solid defensive play to back that up as well. Meanwhile on the other side you have Gustav "Godquist" Nyquist who this year turned up the heat in Detroit despite still being completely mistreated by Ken Holland and really not seeing many good minutes at all. He's much older than Mackinnon, for sure, but scoring 28 goals in 57 games is no joke at the age of 24, especially when you aren't even playing with the best players on your team like Mackinnon was. (fun fact: they share the same birthday, which is today! Happy birthday Nate and Gustav!)

Next we have the Russian line Kucherov - Galchenyuk - Yakupov. Now don't get me wrong, I don't buy into the motif that all russians are lazy players or can't play defense. Kucherov and Galchenyuk have shown that they can play some decent d indeed. However none of those players have proven that they have done a lot in the NHL - they have the upside, but haven't shown it yet. Meanwhile you have E. Lindholm who at this point has about the same upside as Galchenyuk and plays better D. I don't think either of these guys really has an advantage on the other.

On the LW, you have Schwartz vs Kucherov. Now I love Kucherov and think he has great upside if he can reach it, but that's a pretty big if. Schwartz has already shown he could be a #1 LW with great two way ability. He posted 56 points in 80 games (.7ppg) and is only 22, 1 year older than Kucherov. He's drawn a lot of comparisons to Parise too. I think at this point it's easy to say Schwartz >>> Kucherov.

Now it's Mantha vs Yakupov. I think this is also an easy decision. Yakupov hasn't shown he can do anything in the NHL and has failed to live up to his draft hype at any stage of his career afterwards. Does he still have upside? Absolutely, but it's looking less and less like he's going to reach that potential. Meanwhile you have Mantha, coming out of a year where he put up a better PPG than Yakupov ever has, as well as showing that even at tougher levels of play like the WJC as well as during the Memorial Cup he can still put up points. Mantha is quickly being talked about as one of the top prospects in the world, while Yak has fallen further and further from everyone's eyes.

So to recap, Eichel > RNH, Mantha > Yakupov, therefore my top 6 is better than his.

Tomas Tatar - Leon Draisaitl - Tyler Toffoli
Sven Baertschi - Sam Reinhart - Brendan Gallagher

vs

Gaudreau - Fabbri - Palat
Goldobin - D. Strome - R. Strome

Both of our bottom 6's are good - we both have 2 way guys but IMO I have the edge on offense while he has the edge on Defense. However my bottom 6 is no slouch at d either with guys like Fabbri, Palat, and D. Strome and I can always sub in a guy like Palmieri too. We'll call the bottom 6 even though.

Defense

Ryan Murray - Griffin Reinhart
Oliver Kylington - Tyson Barrie
Darnell Nurse - Nikita Zadorov

vs

Fowler - Faulk
Brodin - Tanev
Fleury - Murphy

Now on the top pairing, I don't see how you could think anything else but that my top pairing is much better than his. Fowler and Faulk are both #1D's in the NHL with the potential to get even better. They've both shown they can score, and that top pairing transition game is off the hook.

Murray and Reinhart are great (especially Murray), don't get me wrong. But they're just not as good as Fowler and Faulk are.

On the 2nd pairing, we have my shutdown D. Brodin is arguably the best shutdown D prospect in the league, who is already playing some of the toughest minutes on the team, logging huge minutes, and shutting down some of the top NHL scorers with gusto.

Tanev has been Vancouver's best defenseman, and is another shutdown guy that rarely makes a mistake in his own zone, always making the smart play. This pairing could match up against anyone in the NHL in a couple of years.

Now I don't know much about Kylington, so I won't talk about him. But Barrie is an offensive D that has a lot of work to do in his defense. I wouldn't trust him at all in defensive situations, and his transition game isn't super amazingly good either. He's an NHL player no doubt, but he would probably be pushed down to a bottom pairing role on a contender given that IMO he's more of a PPQB/Offensive specialist as he doesn't own a lot of 2 way ability.

Now onto the bottom pairing!

Fleury - Murphy

vs

Nurse - Zadorov

Now we have some similar players here. Nurse and Zadorov are great, no doubt. In fact I think his bottom pairing is slightly better than mine, because Nurse/Zadorov > Murphy. But at this point does it really matter? My defense is far better than his as a whole IMO.

Onto the goalies!

Gibson
Nedeljkovic

Ah, here we have the best prospect goalie in the world here, and a backup that is also very good.

I mean, Gibson already has a .954 sv% in the NHL, how can you compare that to Eddie Lack, someone who has only seen significant NHL time once in his lifetime, hasn't posted good numbers there, is 26, and doesn't even really have humongous #1G upside like both of my goalies do?

Demko is also great. But I think both of my goalies are in fact, better than him IMO.

So there you have it! vote :canes

:caps are easily the better team, we have very similar top 6s but the bottom 6 and depth forwards isn't very close, our 3rd line and especially our 4th line is significantly better. Our D is easily better with some of the best in the business and once again much better depth than the stars D. Goaltending is once again not very close as both our starter and backup is better than who the stars have
