Would seem to fit our current coaching crew's style..

One name the Flyers have been kicking around is winger Curtis Glencross, who has been playing on Calgary's first line. Glencross, 30, netted 26 points in 40 games last season. He has 24- and 26-goal seasons on his resume, he's consistent, and he's one of the few players on Calgary's roster to play a gritty game.

The Flames are desperate for a defenseman to play with Mark Giordano and the Flyers have a glut of high-priced blue-liners. Even without trading a defenseman, the Flyers could fit a player like Glencross' $2.55 million salary-cap hit on the books - if he were willing to move his no-trade clause.

Last week, the Flyers sent assistant general manager Ron Hextall and director of scouting Chris Pryor to Washington for Calgary's first game of the season. Head pro scout Dave Brown traveled to Columbus for Calgary's matchup the following night

.....In addition to Glencross, the Flyers could be interested in 20-year-old Sven Baertschi, a first-round pick who was blasted by new Flames president Brian Burke last week.

To my knowlegde Glencross is a good ole western Canadian boy & doesn't want to leave the area hence why he's signed cheap & has been playing on the Flames all these years.

I'd love Glencross, however, I don't know how keen the Flames would be on moving him for a guy we'd get rid of. I mean, they want to get younger, right? Would you trade Gus? I would.

D I wouldn't trade or don't see the Flyers trading for him: Schenn, Streit, Kimmo, Coburn.

Baertschi would cost an arm and a leg. I'd love to have him on our squad, kid is gonna be a certified sniper.

Oh I know as he should be. Always liked the kid. Him on a line with Giroux and Voracek would be crazy. That being said would need to give up someone big. Trade revolving around him and Laughton would be nice haha. Doubt it happens.

I would offer up Coburn but then the defense would look REALLY bad. Coburn hasn't been very good but he still better than most Flyers defensemen, though that's not saying much.

If some of these players are going to be useful/nhl players, then the Flyers may have a glutton of them on the roster. Package some up to get high end talent. Flyers don't have a lot of finishers right now.

Read, Coburn and a solid pick could get Glencross and Baertschi. The Flames like Read and Coburn a lot.

I honestly don't see Baertschi being moved. Even though Burke called him out for his defensive play, Burke and Feaster are incredibly high on Baertschi. Burke was just needling Sven to learn to play in the other two zones. Nothing wrong with being called out for that.

Sorry this is just terrible for us.

If it is Glencross straight up Coburn might make sense.

The ideal defenseman would be L.Schenn but he won't be moved

The other deal would be Glencross + for Couts.

A big fat NO to moving Read.

Right now the Flyers have only two players on the roster who can skate the puck out of their zone through neutral: one of them is Matt Read and Jake Voracek the other.

Laughton seems to be the more logical choice since he struggles to make the roster due to the strong competition at center but dominates in Juniors at the same time... could be a good move for both sides?!

What's everyone's thoughts on something around Sven and B. Schenn?
