Minor additional nitpick, Perreault was a free agent signing, as was Tanev (undrafted college free agent).

So is this thread also including FAs? Should it be "if you hadn't made a trade or signed a free agent or signed an undrafted college free agent?"

Do trades for draft picks count? The Flyers picked Konecny, for instance, after they traded Coburn for Gudas and Tampa's first, then traded that first and another pick to Nashville for theirs. So, they drafted him, but they made two trades to actually get him.

Meanwhile, the Capitals picked John Carlson with a pick they got from the Flyers. So would the Flyers have Carlson and no Konecny?

Yes but they drafted him in high school, he went to college then signed as a FA in Boston.
