    Mock Draft Anyone?

PM's were sent out as an invitation to some 'in the know' posters but if you want to join and were not sent a note, PM me and I will put you on a waiting list incase we get an opening.

    THE RULES
Just make your picks in a timely manner and this mock will run smoothly. We will start once we get a full roster of GM’s.

A time limit of 12 Hours will be in effect and if you are going to be out of town or away from your PC, drop me a PM with a proxy list and I will make your pick for you.

If you exceed the 12 hour window a pick will be made based on the NHL CS mid-term rankings and with an eye towards organizational needs.

Please PM the next GM after you make your pick and make sure your PM box is empty to start the mock.

    ORDER:
The order is based on where each team is likely to finish with Vancouver projected Stanley Cup Champs, Pittsburgh as the runner ups, Detroit and Tampa losing in the Conference finals and division winners Dallas and Boston rounding out the top six teams. The standings with some small corrections based on injuries and other intangibles are used to fill out the remaining order. All trades and penalties (NJ 3rd rounder) are taken into account as of January 13th.

    TRADES:
Trades are allowed but must be realistic (salary cap considerations include) or voided if three or more posters agree of its unrealistic nature and say so. If you are involved in two consensus voided trades you will not be allowed to continue to propose trades to others but can accept deals proposed to you.

Eligible prospects for this draft are those for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft with the same eligibility terms set forth in the NHL/NHLPA CBA.

Jordan Staal and Paul Martin ARE available for trade. Don't even bother asking about Crosby and Letang, though.

Bruins will entertain offers for the 4th overall selection.

All Boston picks are in play, as a matter of fact- no "sacred cows" here, but not unloading them for bupkus, either.

However, do not expect a decision on the Toronto until the first three selections have been made. Once Boston is on the clock, I will decide whether to keep or deal the fourth pick.

Shouldn't the Sens be picking 4th overall? The Sens are clearly lower in the standing than the Leafs (Boston's pick). They have been for a week or so and have games in hand.

The Avs won't be looking to make huge changes, but we do have some surplus of both defenders and forwards that can be traded for picks or prospects, i.e. Hunwick, Cumiskey, Holos, Yip, Porter, McLeod, Koci etc. Also considering Stoa...

Malkin IS available, but it would take a LOT to get him. Something like:

    Top-6 Winger
    #1/2 Prospect (Winger)
    1st rounder
    2nd rounder

There are only 3 untouchables on the Isles, right now.

    Tavares, Hammonic and El Nino

Senators are open to a trade, in particular discussing a few options to trade down from #5 to later in the first round in exchange for another pick in the 2nd round or a young forward on your team's roster.

We have a trade to announce!

Carolina trades his 1st (12th) and 3rd Round pick (72nd) to St. Louis for their 1st (10th) and 5th round pick (130th).

We're off to a blazing start here... how long is each team's window to make a selection again?

    Blockbuster coming!

Anaheim trades Bobby Ryan, Kyle Palmieri, and the 16th overall to Pittsburgh for Evgeni Malkin.

Confirmed - not sure how technical we're getting but I know Anaheim's player salaries are around 52M but why are their salary cap salaries listed higher?

Philly is looking for bonafide starting goalie, and a top 4 D-man.
