Agreed but the overall idea makes sense, bad value for Arizona but OP usually has nonsense threads with all due respect, he’s a fine poster but threads are not his thing. This is a step in the right direction
Cowan going to be good player. Reminds me of Seth Jarvis. The O usually little better league than the WHL. Plus a first pick. Coyotes get good value.

If I was to move our top prospect and a 1st, I'd want either a difference maker in net, or a difference maker on defense.

Say Rasmus Andersson was available then you could talk about Cowan+ a 1st++

Rasmus Andersson or somebody like him is the guy you sell the farm for, not Lawson Crouse.

Your 1st and Cowan wouldn’t get you close to acquiring Crouse

Arizona might have no interest in moving him, but in terms of trade value, he’s a solid 2nd line scoring winger on a good contract, not Connor McDavid…

Hagel is an obvious benchmark, but he was much younger and on even more of a sweetheart deal. And Cowan is worth more than a second late 1st lottery ticket.

Probably a lot closer than you think
It’s not. Several other teams would beat that. Easton Cowan, great prospect, but you leaf fans have a knack for thinking your proposals are iron clad.

Not many players in the league like Crouse and what he brings. It would take a lot to pry him out of Arizona. Cowan and a late 1st isn’t it.

Comparing Crouse to Mcdavid is ridiculous, let’s not do that.

Crouse is a 20 goal, power forward with size, speed and a shot. Plays a great 200 ft game, blocks shots and plays the pp and pk. Cowan and 1st would be blown out the door if Crouse were made available.

That's more or less the value that other teams would offer. No one is selling the farm for Crouse. If the team values Crouse more and don't see a value in trading him, fine, that's one thing. But don't think that other teams would top that just because they could

Wrong. He has a lot of value around the league. Higher value than this. Toronto needing to save those assets for something else is more than reasonable and probably correct.

Other teams have a farm, Toronto doesn’t. Look back a page or two and see what others think of Crouse’ value around the league, you’ll be shocked. Granted they’re hf posters, it’s a lot more than Cowan and 1

Understandably so. Use the assets where it’s needed. Toronto doesn’t need help on offense.

Dumba is available and Toronto was in on him before signing Klingberg. Might be something there…3rd in 24?

How old is Crouse now? You have to start thinking about value vs age/attrition at some point. If you think the Coyotes can win next year, OK, fine. Your valuation of Crouse presently holds more meaning. But if your core is getting increasingly younger and, as a result, your ascent is 4 or 5 years from now, holding on to Crouse has more value vs adding another prospect whose age re-aligns with the core?

Its somewhat similar to the Avs getting younger by trading Duchene. Different types of players of course, but otherwise analagous.
