Try to use proper positions. Also limit it to players you have witnessed enough times so you really have a sense of not only how good they were but how they played the game as well. Which 5 players do you think would be the most effective/dominant 5 man unit at even strength? Assume all players are at their peak level of play, and try to state reasons why you think they would be the best.
Ovechkin-Forsberg-Jagr
Lidstrom-Pronger
For me that combination of elite defense, playmaking, goal scoring, physical play, and puck posession would be tough to beat. I also think they would work well together with Jagr and Forsberg playing their elite puck posession game with Lidstrom and Pronger on the back end playing keep away until they feed Ovechkin. This unit would be nearly impossible to get the puck off of, nearly impossible to score on, and impossible to stop from scoring.
I'm interested in seeing everyone else's opinion.
