Yep, we needed to get back a 2nd or at least a 3rd rounder to even it out.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts as well.I like Schmaltz a lot. I’d have been happy with Strome+ or Perlini+ to get him. For both? Nah. If we’d at least have got a 2nd, I could stomach it.
I'm guessing Schmaltz plays LW in the top six.
And yet lazy ass vets can still float around collecting huge checks with impunity? Doesn’t seem like a very effective way to send a message. Panik should be placed on waivers immediately. He’d clear anyway. That’s a message.Seems to me this was more of a message delivered rather than a fair value trade.
I think we're going to regret letting Strome go, though.
Chayka has been described to me as a very cocky young man, by someone close to him.I’m fine with moving on from Strome and Perlini. They’re both wimps. But we didn’t get enough back. We needed a second asset of notable value.
Chayka just has it out for any pick that predates his having prominent influence on selections.
There was no future with either of those 2 guys. I bear no malice, but they needed a new start. And yet lazy ass vets can still float around collecting huge checks with impunity? But then we'd be less Chicago west. And yet lazy ass vets can still float around collecting huge checks with impunity? Doesn’t seem like a very effective way to send a message. Panik should be placed on waivers immediately. He’d clear anyway. That’s a message.

Haha. Yes. Let’s put the youngsters on notice while our leadership group completely fails us.Good start. It sure puts Fischer on notice.
Hmm Chucky moved to the wing maybe?
I like that ex Hawks line.
I love that Nick Schmaltz is a right-handed shot. I love that he is a natural Center. I love that he has put up some good numbers. I love that he's only a year older than Dylan Strome and the same age as Perlini.
I hate giving up both players for a single piece. I hate that we don't know if this guy was just a product of Chicago's high offense. I hate the idea of Strome and Alex Debrincat reuniting and potentially opening Strome's offense.
I am very even on this trade, sad to see how 2015 went for us. Sad to see Perlini failing to put it completely together.
