Hahah I spotted a Jacob Joeseffson jersey in the crowd in that Blandsi video.

Hey now, lots of people had those. It was cool back then.

I'm sorry Lindy chants are too soon IMO
sure, but the “fire lindy” chants were also too early, so it balances out.

We’re already anchoring our opinions to the point where the Devils were absolutely steamrolling great teams 3 times a week. Now that they’re “just” winning in a more pedestrian fashion, people think something’s wrong.

On the Junbotron they said it was a 'sell out' (16.5k attendence today).

That isnt the full arena but they sold it all... I guess a technical sell out.

Arena was almost full though. Club looked a little spotty. My section and nearby section were just about full
A portion of the people in the Club Seats spend time in the clubs and also tend to leave early.

That's wild, I had looked before the game and some of the 200 corners were still like $46 before fees. That's ridiculous for the highest seats in the building. I think they should be $15 on weekdays and $20/25 on weekends and that's including fees.

Those seats are the ones that should be booking fans for life. I sat in the upstairs of 230 as a kid in the Meadowlands cause the seats were the cheapest for a few years. It's how I got hooked for life and ended up buying season tickets in a more expensive section as soon as I could.

It wouldn't saturate the market by doing that and the team shouldn't give a shit if those go for more money on the secondary market because you would have the seats filled, hopefully hook fans for life like me, have people in the building spending more on food and merch. Increase the atmosphere cause everyone ones loves a full crowd. It's a win win for everyone.

It can’t be that including fees and if you have a problem with that it’s too bad because Ticketmaster is a bloodsucking monster and everyone knows it.

It’s cool to see now that other people are recognizing that we have a bunch of good young players .
I rock out my Devils gear often and now people will make comments like “ Hey , you guys are doing awesome so far , that Nico and Bratt kid are good! Amd Hughes ? He is awesome to watch.”
I have always worn devils gear , even during the past years where we were terrible but now people where I live are noticing the Devils. Which is new. Or at least hasn’t happened for a longgggggg time

Agreed,

While I'm loving the run we're on and the way the team is playing, I'm not sold on Ruff. History dictates this is as much the assistants as him, as he's literally never had a team this dominant or defensively sound. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I honestly don't see him being the coach that takes us to the next level or a cup.

Yeah, Senn was older, and wasn't as good as Schmid. He followed up his NHL debut season, with a sub .900 save% in Utica(edit: Bing) the next year, at the age of 24.

Schmid (in a small sample) is at .918 at 22.
Schmid was on a better team than Senn was but I'm super high on Schmid and think he's got a ton of potential as I've been saying for a while now.

Hasn't Fitzgerald said that he has more of a front office position in mind for Lindy?

I wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to move Lindy and start with Burnette next year when Ruff's contract expires.

The thing is that every coach needs Offensive and Defensive Coordinators which Ruff basically has in Burnette and McGill.

The Coach's job is to Motivate basically and to make decisions regarding matchups, imo.

I know the Coach isn't the end-all be-all but let's not sit here and claim that Lindy is some kind of passenger here either.

When did he say that? I heard it mentioned on the board but I don’t know when Fitz said that. (Not saying it didn’t happen but I couldn’t find it anywhere.)

He never said that. What he said was something along the lines of that Lindy Ruff is important to the organization and the implication was that if Ruff were no longer head coach, he'd have some position with the Devils. The 'front office' thing is classic HF Boards telephone.

Sharangovich has turned into a great penalty killer... but the line jumbling has absolutely hurt him at even strength.

He needs to stay with Jack and for the love of all things holy, get him on the second PP unit.
2d power play with Mercer and Wood up front. The second unit showed some flashes yesterday but has generally been a total waste. We might try therefore Mercer in the bumper slot on the 2d unit and Wood net front, Sharangovich on his off wing side wall. However, the downside as to Wood is, it scrambles all of your lines for the shift after the power play. We can put the heavy line out with Wood first shift after both the PK and the Power Play if he's not on the power play unit. And those are important shifts. On the other hand, there's no reason to hold Shango off the man advantage.

Partner to the GM isn't front office? Keep doing your thing.

I genuinely don’t think this team has good power play players is the main issue, aside from the first unit.

Sharangovich has never looked good on the PP. Wood doesn’t seem to have the poise needed there. Mercer seems to struggle too. Zetterlund 5-on-4 has tried to force too much and so far he seems more of a volume shooter than sniper. Haula is on there for his face off skill, but hasn’t looked good at all either.

Personally, I’d like to see Boqvist get a shot as he seems like he’d be effective on the half wall. Not sure what to do for the rest in all honesty.
