Definitely a crazy atmosphere last night, fanbase has clearly been starving for this and we're finally getting it.

On the subject of the crowd itself (e.g. drinking, general obnoxiousness, etc.) it was something I kind of saw when going to Mets games this year: team gets really good again for the first time in awhile, and some folks start coming out of the woodwork and treat each game like an event that warrants getting plastered or whatever. Every fanbase in sports has its share of schmucks in it, and that can be most pronounced when a long-suffering group suddenly starts to taste success again.

...that, and over the last few years it's definitely been easier and easier to get hard liquor at the Rock. I appreciate it, since while I do love a good beer I typically prefer doing a couple of rounds of mixed drinks, instead, but again when it's a Saturday and the team's got a party atmosphere around it, it's hard not to expect some people to make jackasses of themselves. Reminds me of when I was a kid and the PTA gave us forms for discounted Devils or Nets tickets, and I got all excited at one because it was Knicks vs. Nets, but my parents read it, saw it'd be on St. Patrick's Day, and said no. When 8-10 year old or whatever me asked why, they said "because when it comes to the drinking that'll be happening, that's guaranteed to be Amateur Night".

Game itself was all you could ask for; sloppy at times in the first, which has been a bit of a minor habit lately, but just like many other recent games they regrouped in the locker room and came out flying in the second, then were able to just keep things settled for the most part during the third. Did find it funny at first that the guy sitting next to me spent the whole second (y'know, when we were winning and when we were outshooting the Yotes 14-4) just complaining about everything they were doing on the ice, but that got old after a few minutes.

The only goals scored on him were PP goals so he exceeded my expectations despite his SV% for the game. Hell one was off our own Dman so they only scored 1 goal on the PP on him really. That's good in my book.

Love the crowd chanting SCHMIDDDDDD every time he touched the puck late in the game. Love the crowd being playoff levels before Thanksgiving for once.
the mental aspect of the game are for the goalies so important. i very much like it, if a inexperienced rookie gets a boost from the crowd.

oh shit.

i just realized my typo.
don't change it. the in-season rivalary with bruins fans hopefully happens anyway.

First place in the division, 12-3 record and a 9 game winning streak for a team who has a young and hungry fan base that is absolutely desperate to finally see some good winning hockey will do it.

If they structured the pricing better it would have been a legit sell out tonight and more going forward.

On the Junbotron they said it was a 'sell out' (16.5k attendence today).

That isnt the full arena but they sold it all... I guess a technical sell out.

Arena was almost full though. Club looked a little spotty. My section and nearby section were just about full

I went to the caps game on Friday. There were hundreds of empty seats and they called it a sellout. Every team does this.

I took this username as a joke because of the weird hatred for Zacha.

Put it this way, it's as close to a legit sellout as you could have expected in mid-November against the Yotes, a game that probably had 14,000 ticketed at best before the winning streak grew to 5+. It's pretty much as close as you're going to get to one before March against a non-Rangers team, aside from the post-Christmas game bump.

Who knew we would be talking about sellouts in november (technical or not) back in preseason .... Holy smokes this season is up there..

Good win! Good game from Schmid too. Dano kept saying how he looks more matured or something, but I bet the defence being much better this year also helps getting into a groove. I'm not quite sold on him being NHL ready yet, especially against elite teams, but good to know he can handle few games here and there and give the team a chance to win.

I think Arizona looks much more competitive this year, I don't think their timeline is as far as people think. For me it's an easy team to root for after everything they've been through.

Tough schedule ahead now. This Canadian trip will be challenging. That Montreal first line is money. Toronto is Toronto, and Ottawa is finally back in the win column after giving us a very difficult matchup. Then in December we get the real challenge with bunch of games against Boston, Canes and Panthers. We'll find out if we are just fighting for a playoff spot, or if we can actually make a run this year.

I think this team can continue the work... They actually have 2 days off to recoup and probably really needed from this run of games.

Havent seen MTL yet this season, but not concerned at this moment.

As for Arizona, they looked better defensively than i expected. Also That Keller goal when he split our D on the PP was a nice voal.

Glad we finally put the gas pedal on as the game went on.. I think this road trip will be another good test...
